Man from Eindhoven (Holland) Arrested in Masud Muder Case

EINDHOVEN (ANP) - Police in the Netherlands have arrested a man in Eindhoven (Dutch city) last week that is linked to the killing of Ahmed Shah Masud. This was announced yesterday by a spokesman from the DA in Den Boch (where the central justice office is located).

Masud, the commander of the Northern Alliance was killed 9 september in northern Afghanistan by an assassination attempt undertaken by two Moroccan men that pretended to be journalists. The oppositionleader was killed by a bomb hidden in a videorecamera. This assassination was probebly undertaken by the Taliban or the terrororganization of Osama bin Mohammed bin Laden.

The arrest in Eindhoven was requested by the Belgian police. They are currently investigating the origine of the forged Belgian passports that the two assassins were using. The perpetrators were traveling with forged Belgian passports. The documents appear to be stolen from the Belgian embassy located in Den Haag (The Hague, Holland) and the Belgian consulate in Straatsburg (Luxemburg). In Belgium certain suspects were arrested earlier. The British justice department already has accused an Egyptian fundamentalist of aiding the assassination attempt.

The nationality of the man arrested in Eindhoven is, according the DA-office, still unknown. "We are currently investigating it. We suspect that the man is using multiple aliasses", the spokesman told the media.

And tracking down the killers of Masud, "The Lion of The North".

I think it was in a Los Angeles Times article a couple of months ago on the assassination
basically said that Osama's guys did it...basically as a favor or as a quid pro quo
for the Taliban.
Sort of like Osama was paying rent to the Taliban by taking Masud out of the picture.
