No kidding!! I went out to just get my nail fixed and I waited 28 minutes to make a left hand turn into the mall, and another 45 minutes to get a parking space. What a nightmare. I couldn't wait to get home.

I don't know if y'all have heard, but somebody tried to light a bomb on an AA flight from Paris to Miami. He was detained and the flight was landed at Logan in Boston.

He was trying to light his shoe! It appears he had some kind of explosive hidden in his shoe...the flight attendant and passengers had a big fight with him and F16's were scrambled. Scary.

Meanwhile, it's a lovely night this weekend before Christmas.

I was lucky...finished all my shopping yesterday and got to the grocery at 5AM this morning so I missed the crowds. Then I stayed home and baked and cooked all day....it was wonderful! Merry Christmas to ME...yeeaaaayyy!

Wasn't that strange? He tried to light a bomb in his shoe, the old "hot foot" from Bugs Bunny movies. Has anyone reported on whether the guy was Middle Eastern, or would that offend some delicate sensibilities?

I haven't heard an "official" report if he was Middle Eastern or not. He wasn't very bright - everybody on a plane is ready for any kind of terrorist acts these days.

Ohhhh! Thank you for the snow picture! We are in Houston now and it is sooooooo warm and muggy. YUK!!!! I guess we won't be having a white Christmas. :(

Remember that old series Agent 99 (or was it 86)? Anyway he had a shoe phone. The name on the manifest was Robert Reed with a British passport.

We just finished cooking a turkey in a turkey fryer. Pre meal testing reveals it is very tasty and oh so moist.

From Reuters: Tom Kinton, director of aviation at Logan International airport in Boston, told a news conference that flight attendants and other passengers on Flight 63 had "tackled" the man, who appeared to be an Arab carrying a false passport.

His passport bore an English-sounding name, too, and he reportedly boarded the plane with no luggage - apparently that didn't raise any suspicions on the part of the crack Parisian security team.

He of the shoe phone was Maxwell Smart, agent 86 (Agent 99 was the lovely and sultry Barbara Feldon). I guess Mustafa Richard Reid, or whatever he called himself, saw himself as a kind of secret agent man. Sorry about that, Chief. Would you believe ...

Fox said the guy was of "middle eastern descent;" an article at Drudge's site says the guy's name is Reid; who knows. It isn't a laughing matter, though. This kind of thing could take the plane down. I'm flying to Texas tomorrow. I will be "in the fight" if some jacka$$ tries something on one of my flights.
