Suspects in Rotterdam had videotapes Bin Laden (Holland)

The three men that were arrested in Rotterdam for the suspected planning of a terrorist attack, had videotapes with speeches from Osama bin Laden at their home. This was revealed bij DA-officer P. Notenboom today at the court in Rotterdam.

Police detained the three men in Rotterdam two days after the 9/11 attacks. In their home the police discovered many false passports, drivers licences and pay-cards. According to the Justice Departement the three men planned an attack against an Amrican target in Europe together with the Tunesian ex-soccerplayer Nizar Trabelsi.

Trabelsi, who was arrested at the same time in Belgium, confessed that he was planning a terrorist attack. Also the in the UAE arrested Algerian man, Djamel Beghal did confess that Trabelsi planned an attack. The French Justice Departement directly connected Beghal to Bin Laden's terrorist network.

Trabelsi and also Beghal were in close contact with Jerome Courtailler, the most important detained suspect in Rotterdam. According to the DA he helped with the execution of the terrorist plans by, amongst other things, handing Trabelsi a false passport. Courtailler, a 27 year old French that changed his religion to islam, denies any involvement. He does not talk to the police any further.

A interesting detail is the fact that Courtailler and the other suspects Mohamed B. and Saad I. watched regulary videotapes with interviews and speeches form Osama bin Laden. Also the police disovered videotapes made by Tsejchen fighters of slaughtered Russian soldiers.

At the request of Courtailler's lawyer an Algerian man, staying illegally in the Netherlands, that was arrested 13 september in the same building in Rotterdam, had to be questioned as a witness. The Algerian man was released by the DA after a short while because lack of evidence against him. The lawyer suspects that the Algerian acted as informant or even worked as infiltrant for the BVD (the Dutch NSA).

The court decided that Courtailler will be held in custody for another three months. Also the restrictions remain, what means that he is not allowed to have contact with any outside source. But he is allowed to watch TV, listen to the radio and read newspapers.

The pro forma-hearing against the other two suspects are to be held monday afternoon.

Another "valuable contribution" muslims planned to make to society. Also note that the suspects come from many different islam countries.

Islam: religion of peace (and tolerance). Yeah, right!

BTW, the Dutch and Belgian police are usualy to lame to go out and investigate this kind of terrorists, so I bet the Algerian guy was indeed a mole, but working for the French. This also explains te quick link the French gave to the Belgians.

As knighthawk reports, now there's word that one of these guys, Courtailler, was in contact with Shoe Boy Reid in Holland.
