Muslims and neo-nazi's protest together against Israel (in Holland)

The Hague - About hundered protesters, radical muslims and a handfull neo-nazi's, started a demonstration against the state of Israel at 14.30 hours (CET). They gathered at the Malieveld in Den Haag (The Hague)

It is an annual protest taking place on the last friday of the islamic ramadan. The protesters start at the Malieveld, proceed to the Binnenhof (where the Dutch governement is located) to the place in front of the Tweede Kamer (the Dutch highest goverement body). The protesters were displaying flags and sheets with Arabic texts and some Dutch texts, like "Israel childkillers". Neo-nazi frontman E. Horman from Groningen walks along the protest with an Arabic flag.

The deceased Iranian ayatollah Khomeiny had instructed some time ago that these annual protests against "the west" should be held in respect to the "Day of the oppressed". In the years before, the protests were mostly peacefuly. Until the beginning of the protest friday there were no incidents reported.

The world is a weird place. Muslims and neo-nazi's joining forces against Israel is to insane for words. Last week there was a protest in Landgraaf (a city in Limburg, the province I live in). There a neo-nazi political party held a demonstration, complete with "skinheads". There even was this guy who tried to look like Hitler (his hair and moustash), but with glasses on. They carried Palestinian flags with them and shouting out for the destruction of Israel.

We Dutch people take pride in the fact that we helped so many Jews to escape from the Nazi's during WW II. The general strike in Rotterdam to prevent many deportations, the resistance raiding administration-offices and burn archives so no one knew who the Jews were. The many people who hide Jews in their basements. We are close friends with Israel, but these "protests" make me ashamed to tell you people I am Dutch...

Remember the stories in the "Arab press" saying how great Hitler was and he should of finished the job. The Protocoals of the Elders of Zion is a best seller in both the Arab world and among neo-Nazis. Many Arab states during WWII were sympathetic to Hitler. It should be no surprise these two groups can protest together since the have the same basic beliefs.

Yes, I thank the US for giving my counrty (and the rest of Europe) it's freedom back. Without their sacrifice, I do not think I would ever be born, and if I was, I would be indoctrinated to grow up like a nazi.

I remember when I was a little boy. My parents took me to the WWII (open-air) museum in Overloon. After our tour we went to the nearby war cemetary, where US soldiers were buried. Seeing thousands of them lying there, giving their lives fighting for our freedom, impressed me a lot. And we even made a movie about Market Garden, called "A Bridge Too Far", after the book by Ryan. There is also an Airborne museum over here. But a lot of my fellow countrymen hate Americans, maybe they should see how many US soldiers died for their freedom.

I saw "Bridge Too Far" a couple of times and read the book. Its too bad the planners of the operation did not listen to the Dutch army officers. Maybe the plan would of succeeded.
