Its GWB in a landslide.Rudy is an interesting local choice, but its Dubya; the impact he's had on world events is enormous. But , knowing Time magazine, they'll give it to....Colin Powell.Ugh!

I KNEW that miserable magazine would do THAT. They should be metaphorically TAR & FEATHERED before their deportation for SEDITION.

I can just hear all those VILE semi-literate Islamist males cheering with glee...

Didn't Dubya get it last year, too, for winning the nailbiter 2000 election (when the reason he should have gotten it was for preventing algore from stealing the Presidency).

Oh, and the fact that Time is even considering OBL should be more than enough evidence to convict the editors of treason - "aid and comfort to the enemy".

After reading the article I think Time Magazine will name an object-it has been done before..like 'Ground Hero'

This gets them off the hook, includes the terrorist attacks and generates buzz.

Good compromise, in a mealy mouthed sort of way.Or, they may give it to the FDNY, en masse.

GWB was Man of the Year in 2000 - I seriously doubt they'd pick him a second year in a row.

Why do you people fail to comprehend that Time's "Man of the Year" is not a prize or honor... it is a designation for the man who had the biggest impact on news for the past year.

For 2001, that man is clearly Osama bin Laden. Only politically correct drivel would keep him from "winning".

This is from a magazine that named Hitler as the Man of the Year back in the 1930s. They should change their name to Slime Magazine.

No, it is NOT a joke. MTY is supposed to be the individual OR thing that had the most influence on the year.

Ya know, value "neutral."

Adolf Hitler was given this designation by TIME on January 2, 1939.

So, you see, it is POSSIBLE that TIME Magazine WILL give it to him. I'm gonna get you a link to another thread discussing this. BRB!

Man of the year isn't a popularity contest - it's given to the person who is most responsible for making news that year. I believe Hitler has won it before, as well as other unpopular figures.

The N.Y. Times site has a picture of Flight Att. Sandy Bradshaw (who helped boil/pour the water on the terrorists) also with stories of the heroes of Flight 93.

I think the spirit and reaction of 'Ground Hero'/'Lets Roll' not seen since WWII out weighs a cowardly act by fanatics.

At least the Germans invaded most of Europe to get the Time Magazine 'award' (if you can call it that)
