Tyranny Response Team commandos and FReeper militia disguised as Santa Claus, Elves, other helpers (and even Christians <g>), to raid anti-Santa (anti-Christmas) Kensington Town Council's "Celebration of the American Spirit Through Lights and Music" (Includes the Santa-less Town Tree Lighting Ceremony)

3:30 p.m. - until?
(Their "ceremony" is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. Our FReep is on whether the Town Council eventually surrenders or not. FReepers: take no prisoners in this cultural war!)

Battle Plan:

Patriots will peaceably assemble near the Kensington Armory beginning around 3:30 p.m. and then occasionally disperse to cover all access and egress streets to the ceremony's location. Remember, no profanity, no racism, no threats, no violence, etc., will be tolerated at the scene. A demonstration/protest permit is NOT required for this; regardless, local law enforcement officers should be treated with respect. We must remain "on message", defend the 1st Amendment, freedom of religion, freedom from this local government's tyranny, while we counterattack this secular assault on Christmas. Remember that we are doing this FOR THE CHILDREN! :-)

The mayor is actually very upset by the council decision, she can do nothing about it, I saw her last night on the local news. Probably most effective to direct communication to the council.
Actually, I heard her interviewed on WBAL 1090AM, on the Ron Smith Radio Show, and frankly her attitude sucked. Ron stated, that before you know it, you people will want to ban the very Christmas Tree you are holding the ceremony for, to which she interuppted, that it is not a Christmas Tree, it's a Holiday Tree, which sent Ron into a fit of laughter and grunts of disgust. What a twit. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the Freep, hope you Guy's and Gal's hit 'em hard. Blackbird.

LOL! The only way I can see the complaint about the evil Santa having any legitimacy is if the complainants were worried about tax dollars (presumably coerced Kensington property tax dollars) going to something they don't believe in. On the other hand, if it's a volunteer or pay-upon-admission effort, and they are merely "uncomfortable," which is how they've been described, then screw 'em!
