Listen to Bruce Friedrich Call for Violence

In a recent article, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' Ingrid Newkirk claimed that her group does not condone violence. Really? Then why did Bruce Friedrich tell a group at the Animal Rights 2001 Conference that while he doesn't "blow up stuff,"

...I do advocate it, and I think it's a great way to bring about animal liberation.

Thanks to the folks at the Guest Choice Network you can hear Friedrich in his own words. They have a 1 megabyte WAV file of Friedrich going on at lenght about the glories of animal rights terrorism. You can download it at http://www.guestchoice.com/downloads/peta_quote.wav

Friedrick said that He "thought it would be a great thing if all these fast food outlets, slaughterhouses, laboratories, and banks that fund them exploded tomorrow"!

This certainly sounds like supporting terrorism to me!

His voice sounded awful familiar, then it hit me! Bruce Freidrick is the Guy that Howie Carr has on his show on WRKO in Boston from time to time!

It's about time we start treating domestic terrorists the same way that we have treated the Taliban!

Please clarify one thing for me. What is Bruce Friedrich's relationship to PETA? Is he in a management position with the organization?

By the way, I'm a member of PETA. I'll stop supporting them in a heartbeat if I find that they advocate violent actions.

Thanks for the intersting post.

For what it's worth, PETA, the ALF (animal liberation front), and other such groups, do NOT advocate physical violence against others. However, they Do support the destruction of property. Why? They hope to raise business costs, and to put certain shops, etc., out of business.

That's so nice of them to make that distinction. Does it bother them if people are killed in the process of destroying property? WHAT MORAL DEGENERATES!!!!!!

Yes. They would avoid that at all costs.

Point taken. I need to re-think my PETA membership.

By the way, an interesting web site for vegetarianism is www.vegsource.com

You won't find anyone on that site advocating violence against people or property.

I've noticed that vegetarianism is a "hot-button" issue with some Freepers (not you, Bowana). They need to know that not all vegetarians are a threat to their way of life. Some of us are even pro-life Republicans who voted for George Bush. :-)

Does PETA have offices? It would be interesting if they blew up.

Of course, that would be wrong

If you can't tell the difference between an animal and a blade of grass, then I can't help you!

In a recent op-ed article, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals president Ingrid Newkirk defended her organization by claiming that "PETA does not condone . . . violent acts." But in fact, PETA or its representatives have often rationalized or celebrated violence. Consider just a few examples:

* In the December/January 2000 issue of 'Genre', PETA's Dan Mathews was asked to name men of the 20th century he admired. Mathews told the magazine he admired serial killer Andrew Cunanan, "because he got Versace to stop doing fur."

* In 1999, an animal rights terrorist group calling itself the Justice Department sent letters booby-trapped with razor blades to medical researchers and fur farms in the United States and Canada. When asked about the letters, Newkirk said, "I hope it frightens them [the researchers] out of their careers. If experimenters feel afraid now, that's nothing compared with the fear, harm and death they have inflicted on their victims."

* In a new author's note in her book about the Animal Liberation Front, 'Free the Animals', Newkirk writes, "Determined to cause economic injury to the exploiters, ALF members burn down their emptied buildings and smash their vehicles to smithereens. Perhaps, after reading this book, you will find that you cannot blame them."

* In 1994, PETA donated $42,500 to the Rodney Coronado Support Committee. Coronado is an animal rights terrorist who in 1995 pleaded guilty to firebombing a medical research facility at Michigan State University.

* In fact, Newkirk herself has expressed a wish to carry out arson. At a 1997 animal rights convention she said, "I wish we all would get up and go into the labs and take the animals out or burn them down." In 1999 she expanded on that sentiment, telling the 'Chronicle of Higher Education', "I find it small wonder that the laboratories aren't all burning to the ground. If I had more guts, I'd light a match."

This is all from AnimalRightsnet which works to debunk the Animal Rights Movement:
PETA and Animal Rights Violence

If you really do drop PETA, please do not support the Humane Society of the United States either! They are almost as bad as PETA! Many of the HSUS officers are ex-PETA and Fund for Animals types!

They claim to be an Animal Welfare Organization but they AREN'T! They also are not associated with your local humane societies!

Their political bulletin board is pretty hateful and whacked out: http://www.vegsource.com/talk/flame/index.html. Even more childish than the DU or Michael Moore.

NOPE Not Me! I could care less what other people eat. It's the one's that want to dictate what I eat that I have a problem with!

I see you are a vegan. So you eat no animal or fish products at all?

If God didn't intend for man to eat animals why did he make them out of meat?

Look, these EVIL PETA VEGAN monsters are just flat out torturing plants and grass. It's unthinkable!

And the animals they protect, think about it.. Think about how much pain grazing cows cause the pristine pastures of "Mother Earth"

What horrible, despicable rotton people they are for putting God's first creations through this agony because they are "cuter" or "more mobile" than your friend the flower.. who must sit helplessly as her stalker approaches.. totally defenceless.

It's just mind blowing all the screaming these plants have to be doing. How can they live with themselves, these PETA terrorists?

You know, I think I will go deer & rabbit hunting this year in the name of defending our plant friends, who are incapable of defending themselves.

(Yes, I know it's a nobel cause.. No need to thank me.)

I occasionally have some grated cheese over pasta. Otherwise, 100% pure Vegan.

"Vegan" is a strange word, isn't it? Sounds like a good name for alien invaders! :-)

Thanks for the info on Ingrid Newkirk. I won't be renewing my PETA membership. (Sigh.)
