Announcing the Confederate Convoy
Sierra Times ^ | November 19, 2001 | Thomas Guinn

Posted on 11/19/2001 9:35:04 AM PST by sweetliberty

WE HAVE A CONFEDERATE CONVOY - When an 'Oppressed Minority' suffers the suppression of their liberties, it is their right to petition the government for redress of grevience. Our right to practice, teach and promogate our history, heritage and culture, has made of us 'Second Class Citizens.' We find it therefore necessary to use methods which will sufficiently gain their undivided attention. Therefore the birth of the Confederate Convoy, as an instrument of the 'Southern Rights Movement.'

The 'Confederate Convoy' consists of any suitable vehicles for highway use; automobiles, pickup trucks, econoline vans, limousines, busses and eighteen wheelers are an example. Qualifications for entry of such vehicles, as particpants in the Confederate Convoy, will be the display of a Confederate flag. Those having the Starry Cross of Staint Andrew are preferred. The Confederate States Third National, Second National, Battleflag, Navy Jack, Mississippi and Real Georgia States flags meet this description. The flag(s) should be clearly visible from all directions.

General William T. Sherman's famous march to the sea across Georgia, shall now be answered through our own CONFEDERATE MARCH FROM THE SEA. We as Southerners may disagree on tactics, stratagy and platform. But we can agree upon the necessity of defending our liberties. Upon these, we stand in solidarity! We therefore invite every Confederate, Southerner, Southron, Copperhead, Ally and Friend; all those who love liberty, to join the Confederate Convoy. Those who are male, female, large, small, old, young or disabled. We ride for Southern Rights!

Contact us and help organize the coming campaigns!

It seems to me that we have been bulldozed by the politically crowd long enough. This is not a racist issue! It is a freedom issue!

Southern Heritage Bump

I'd put one on my car, but the display of Confederate flags is not allowed on the base where I am stationed. I would use the Bonnie Blue flag, but then people would mistake me for an admiral.

These guys contantly, loudly, empatically and assuredly protest that "this is not a racist issue."

Methinks they protest too much.

I believe all civilian convoys are illegal on interstate highways.

Only as a response to the ignorant blathering of those who yell "racism" because some rabble-rousing hate-monger such as Mfume or Jackson tell them its so. My guess is that 5 years ago most of these people couldn't have even identified the Confederate flag until the ranting, racist liberals were in need of a new divisive cause to fuel their political campaigns.

I'm back. Things sure have changed since the last time I was here. Anyway, it's not so much a convoy as a "funeral" for political correctness. May it die the ignoble death it deserves and nonsense be replaced once again with common sense and respect for not only history, but the free speech rights of (y)all.

Got no problem with burying PC once and for all. Remember it's not a North-South Issue. It's Freedom versus the Lib Commissars.

IMHO this is a good cause. Most Americans are ill informed about the Civil war and the flags of the South. Most are too willing to believe slavery tales and have no understanding of the unfair taxing by the North and the illegal invasion of soveriegn Southern states by Northern Federal troops. Lincoln was no hero, just another power hungry Fed. Southerns would do well to continue sharing real history of the south with their children and to warn them of the constant encroachment by the Feds....There's more real Constitutonal support in the South than there ever could be in the treasonous North.

If you really must show your "southern heritage" try dragging some shackles and chains behind your pickup truck.

Reminds me of C.W. McCall - What we got here is a Con-Voy!

By the time we got into Tulsa Town, We had eighty-five trucks in all.
But they's a roadblock up on the cloverleaf,
And them bears was wall-to-wall.
Yeah, them smokies is thick as bugs on a bumper;
They even had a bear in the air!
I says, "Callin' all trucks, this here's the Duck.
"We about to go a-huntin' bear."
