A.N.S.W.E.R. - Houston Counter Freep Action Report

As the "War on Terrorism" continues, and makes progress, there are those on the left who are angry that the United States of America is finally responding to the terrorist acts of 11 September. As part of their continuing whining, the leftist group A.N.S.W.E.R. had an anti-war march/rally in Houston on Sunday, 18 November 2001. Of course, Freepers were present to counter their activity.

A beautiful day in Houston, sunny with highs in the upper 70's with light wind. A group of about 20-25 Freepers encountered approximately 200 pacifists. Several of the Freepers waited at the rally location, while others encoutered the pacifists along the parade route.

1. In the group of 20-25 Freepers, there were at least seven U.S. flags of large size, including two that measured at least 4' x 8'. One lady had several smaller U.S. flags. The pacifists had ZERO U.S. Flags, and the only national flag observed was a U.N. Flag.

2. Three Freeper signs of note:
- "Remember 11 September, Let's Roll"
- NY Post sign of Osama Bin Laden, Dead or Alive
- Mural of the Statue of Liberty when the head of Osama in her fist, WTC in the background, with the phrase, Next.

3. Heard very little of the leftists speeches. What I heard was not repeating, as it was the typical leftists propaganda. There was some references to the "stolen election" proving once again that some of these people are just plain "anti-Bush and anti-conservative".

4. One Freeper in attendance lost a cousin in the WTC attack. She asked on numerous occasions if any of the pacifists lost anyone in the 11 September attacks. No response from the left.

What You Should Know about the Workers World Party and the International Action Center

The International Action Center is a prominent Left organization located in New York City which is known for organizing large Left protests. What most people don't know is that an authoritarian Left organization stands behind the IAC, an organization known as the Workers World Party. Both organizations have been criticized by Left activists for supporting dictators such as Slobodan Milosevic and Saddam Hussein. They have also been criticized for their authoritarian activist methods and for their cooperation with the police.

The IAC are like the "Borg" of the Left. They always want to be friends with you and they want you to sign onto their projects. They get the momentum going for their projects by creating deceptive lists of endorsers and then they use this to manipulate other groups to sign on. A critical mass develops behind their event, which ends up being big enough to give the IAC the credibility that it is really interested in. As one activist recently explained:

"The IAC made a point of contacting many groups to sign on to International ANSWER. They immediately contacted various groups in the New York area for support and got it. They got folks as individuals to sign on and listing their organization (for informational purposes) which gives the illusion that those groups were for ANSWER even if those groups hadn't had time to even make a decision yet. They were willing to have anyone sign on, no litmus test of political principles required. Pacifists groups like the Jonah Catholic Worker House in Baltimore, or WWP's ideological rivals in the Freedrom Road Socialist Party. For each name they got added to their list of endorsers, that gave them more clout as being the first big demonstration against the war."

The WWP is an authoritarian organization. Decisions about when and demos are going to be held are made by a small group of leaders. The WWP expects endorsing groups to participate under the banner of one of its front organizations, frequently the International Action Center and currently through the International A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition. This goes clearly against the non-hierarchical and democratic organizing models that have characterized the anti-globalization and anti-capitalist movements. There is no spokescouncil in the IAC.

The IAC is also known for the timidity of its protests, which are typically permitted, symbolic affairs that involve endless hours of speakers and a permitted march. The IAC actively discourages all forms of direct action, including civil disobedience. The IAC actively participates and cooperates with the police at all stages of protest organizing. One of their frequent tactics is to take out permits for all the public spaces that other protest groups might be using for a large mass action. They then play "permit broker" in order to gain influence among other protestors.

The Mysterious Ramsey Clark
Take a close look and there is something downright suspicious about former Attorney General Ramsey Clark, now the darling of certain sectors of the radical left. His journey has taken him from the heights of federal power to outer orbits of the political fringe. In the process, he has seemingly transformed from a shill for the most corrupt elements of the US elites to a shill for any foreign despot who claims to oppose the US elites. Who is Ramsey Clark really working for?

Back to Criticizing the authoritarian Left

Good report, Petroni! And thanks for doing it! Just a couple of words...

I'd like to point out that we had several people who joined us WHO WERE TOTALLY CLUELESS AS TO FR. Especially all the people we passed standing on the corner of Hillcroft and Bellaire who were waiting for the hippies to pass by in their idiotic "march."

Many of these patriotic people had learned of this communist gathering by chance. When I asked them how they got there, their responses were all the same:

"WE CAME BECAUSE WE SAW A LEFTIST FLYER AND WE COULDN'T LET THIS GROUP GO UNCHALLENGED. WE GOT OUR FLAG AND HEADED OUT HERE TO REGISTER OUR STRONG DISAGREEMENT AND WE HAD NO IDEA ANYONE ELSE WOULD BE HERE."

Needless to say, FR was being discussed at some length with these great Americans as I furiously scribbled our website on slips of paper!

Once the maggot infested leftists arrived at their appointed location (lead by the leftist college professors who led them), the police moved us across the street, standing with the sun in our faces - with zero shade. But we stood our ground!

And as Petroni pointed out, the most inspiring sight was the woman who stood with us, in tears, over the loss of her beloved cousin on 9-11. She was ready to take those hippies on - one by one - until they "got her message!"

And the artist who showed up who'd painted his awesome mural (about the size of a king sized sheet and mounted on boards to stand on its own) of the Statue of Liberty - holding the bloody head of OBL was the hit of the day! Didn't catch his name, but he'd just decided to come and display his "answer" to OBL! I found out **HE HAS A COMPUTER!!** I wonder if he's lurking tonight! If so, a big bump for you, sir! Sign up and join us! (His mural made the news - complete with a sweaty nasty anarchist trying to block the mural with her arms waving and her screams of protest.)

Thanks to everyone who came. We stood tall and proud against those smelly nasty anarchists. Even the police officers couldn't disguise their disgust and nodded approval of our cheers and jeers.

We did good. We stood up for freedom. We stood for our beloved country and our awesome President. We sang patriotic songs, we chanted "NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE and USA USA USA!" They won't forget us. ......Of course not. We're FREEPERS!!
