LONDON, Nov. 15 (AFP) - the supreme head of the talibans, mollah Mohammad Omar, promised the "destruction of America (...) shortly", during an interview in diffused language pachtoune Thursday by the BBC World Service."the current situation in Afghanistan is related to a great cause, the destruction of America", it declared in pachtoune, its remarks being translated into English.
"This project continues and if God wants it it is to be implemented, but it is an immense task which exceeds the will and the comprehension of the human beings", according to him.
"With the assistance of God, that will arrive shortly. Keep this prediction with the spirit ", it added.
Mollah Omar in addition affirmed that the town of Kandahar, last bastion of the talibans in the south of Afghanistan, had not fallen to the hands from the opposition from Alliance from North.
The talibans préfèreraient to die rather that to take part in a future government of national union, it explained in this interview.
Attempts to set up such a government have taken place for 20 years and they failed all, it ensured.
Questioned on the advanced rapid of the forces of the opposition, the supreme head of the talibans estimated that the number of provinces currently held by its troops did not have any importance, these territories being able to be reconquered thereafter according to him.
