Heart of Texas After Rally Report
me | October 28, 2001 | basil

Posted on 10/28/2001 6:54:13 PM PST by basil

Members from The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic did it's level best to be the loyal opposition today. I can't say that we made much of a splash, except we did get some interviews and tv reports were filmed. It remains to be seen if they will be shown on the local news or not.

As usual, we were greatly outnumbered, by about 30 to 1, is my guess. We had in the neighborhood of a dozen freepers, and they had probably 300-350. (I'm not that good at estimating crowd size, so maybe someone else can come up with a better estimate.)

It's hard to imagine where all these folks come from (mainly, from under rocks is my guess.) They are almost interchangeable. With very few exceptions, they are young, extremely dirty and smelly, and filthy-mouthed, and are clad in dirty clothes, some in only their underwear! They infiltrated our ranks today, and were perhaps the rudest people I have ever encountered. They were obviously hoping to start a fight. At one time, we asked the police to remove one particularly nasty fellow from our midsts, and were told that that was not possible! We would shout USA, and he would shout SUCKS C#CK"! I don't know what the deal was with the cops and why they wouldn't remove him. Anyway, we had to endure them until the bitter end.

We carried on as best we could with our signs, chants, recorded music, and once in a while, beating out the rythym of our chants with our little mop-bucket drums. We did get lots of waves and thumbs up from passersby, but none stopped to join us.

Several from our group did engage in conversations with these people, and I'll leave it to them to let you know how that went.

Also, The Bat Lady took roll, so I'm hoping she will list all of those in attendance. I would try to do that, but I'm afraid I would leave somebody out. I will say, though, that TexasRangerette joined us. She drove all the way from Abeline--over 200 miles, just to join us. It was nice to get to meet and spend some time with her.

Now I am hoping that others will add to this thread with their views of the way the afternoon went. As always during these events, each of us had different experiences.

We will keep on keeping on, as long as it takes! If they show up, we'll show up.

I'd say the little "infiltrating" bas**rd needs to relocate. I can make some fine recommendations, complete with miles of sand...............and I don't mean "beach".

KXAN 36 did give coverage to both sides, however more to the nasty looking UNAmerican's. Great job to those that were there.

DrewsDad put up a thread also. If I knew how, I would link to it. He put up some digital photos he took today. I will ask him if he can link the threads. The coverage on KEYE was very biased in favor of the peaceniks. The reporter was actually marching with them in her report, and her attitude was defiant and left no doubt as to her position. Very bad form, but what do you expect from the liberal media?

Only thing missing was recorded music of the Chicken Dance. It would have been appropriate to play it as they were marching into their coop, L~

My pleasure and he's my nephew. He was completely shocked that so many idiots (his word) turned out to protest the war.

Here is the link to the OTHER THREAD.

...and we have pictures too. LOL. Basil, I wasn't as explicit on what the little bike punk said. I'm not sure he really believed half of what he said. He was probably just trying to get a reaction. I got a great pic of you putting him in his place.

I am also very glad that you joined FR and came down to the freep. I think we may be having to set these peaceniks straight a few more times before this whole thing is over.

I believe you're right. They said they would conntinue protesting as long as the war was on.

Thanks for the report, basil. Usually the police keep the groups separate - I don't understand why the policeman couldn't help unless he sympathized with the other side - hope that's not the case.

A dozen FReepers on short notice is a good showing. I haven't looked at the pictures yet, but I'm sure the difference between the two groups was apparent. We had lots of young people, dirty looking and badly dressed marching here, too.

Good work - thanks Heart of Texas FReepers.

What part of                                         There WILL be bodybags
"until you are                                        filled with
dead or converted to Islam"                   US Civilians
don't you understand                             US Military
      ?      ?      ?                                  or  TERRORISTS

FIGHT it                                 RADICAL
WIN it                                    LEFT  HATES
END it                                    AMERICA

MAKE LOVE                        WE OFFERED
NOT WAR                                PEACE
WE ARE A                               THEY
CAN-DO PEOPLE                    CHOSE
WE WILL DO BOTH                WAR
George Will  10/14/01

OUR TROOPS ARE                 OTHERS FIGHT
FIGHTING FOR YOUR             FOR YOUR RIGHT
RIGHT TO BE WRONG            TO WHINE

EVIL WINS                             UNITED
WHEN GOOD PEOPLE               WE
DO NOTHING        *                 STAND

* Their countersign... something like ...Terroist win when good people bomb innocents... my guess is bomb in Afghanistan... no mention about the innocent American citizens killed.  One woman actually said "she didn't care" about the US citizens.  I'mfightingMad and I looked at each other in amazement that she really didn't care about our innocent lives.

PEACE IS                                        FREEDOM
1    PENTAGAON                          ISN'T FREE
1    USS COLE                                ANTE UP
   TOWERS
TOO LATE

TheBatLady's husband wanted this sign:

IMAGINE                                     THE GOAL:
WHIRLED                                     ELIMINATE
PEACE-niks                                  TERRORISM

Then I put on my Afghanistan woman's costume, head to toe veils.
My sign

AFGAN  *                                        WHAT IS FEMALE
HOOTERS                                        & CAN'T READ
GIRL                                                   THIS SIGN?

* OK, I admit that I spelled it wrong, and the guy on the other side of the street (leftist) called
me on it. Pretty funny I thought.  but 2 reasons ... one my sign was too small and for another
thing the Afgan women aren't allowed to learn to read or write so of course it would be mis-
spelled.

One reporter for the ACC student newspaper, asked about my outfit and I had to explain that
if we lost this war, this is what she (and the American Hooters girls) would be wearing next year.
I had only had it on for about 10 min. and it was already really pushing on my nose.

We had patriotic music, Lots of American flags (OH THEY HAD ONE) so chanting, some
dialog and a good time was had by all.

My sign had:

Freedom is not Free!

Let's Roll

UA 93

And on the other side had a God Bless America poster with an Eagle and the Statue of Liberty.

When the un-American crowd can stumbling up the road towards US and the Federal Building, they were asking what are we fighting for.

We replied "We're Fighting for Freedom and Freedom is not Free!"
