	Authorities: Anthrax Test Negative Authorities Investigate Second Package Brent Suyama, Staff Writer Posted: 12:30 p.m. HST October 23, 2001 Updated: 2:29 p.m. HST October 23, 2001 HONOLULU -- Tests done by Navy teams showed that a package delivered to a Honolulu office did not have anthrax as first determined by field tests. Teams responded to the fifth-floor offices of Group 70 International at 925 Bethel St. at about 10:15 a.m. The package in question was postmarked from Saudi Arabia, according to sources. An initial field test done by city hazardous materials teams registered a positive reading onsite. A second test also gave a positive reading. A third test turned up negative. The FBI took the package to Pearl Harbor Naval facilities for further testing. There Navy teams determined the package was safe. HFD spokesman Capt. Richard Soo said that about 100 workers from the building were confined to the office while the tests were being done. Police are reopening part of Bethel Street that was closed for hours while authorities investigated. The company is an architectual design firm that does business mainly in Hawaii but also does business around the world including Malaysia. Authorities are also investigating a suspicious package from a foreign country that was delivered to St. Francis Medical Center in Kalihi.
