Taliban Commander in Chief Jalaluddin Haqqani has claimed that the militia is "in touch" with China, which was assisting them in the war against US.
Before leaving for Afghanistan after holding talks with Pakastani officials here, Haqqani, who is also Minister for Frontier Regions, told reporters "China is still assisting Taliban in the war against the United States."
He also said that the Afghan militia "continued to be in touch with Beijing."
He, however, declined to divulge the nature and quantum of the assistance being provided by China.
Haqqani, whose visit to Islamabad raised eyebrows, said China would react sharply in the longer run as the US would dig in Afghanistan.

I'm not sure I'm ready to believe the Hindustan Times. I'd rather wait for a more reputible source. I would imagine the Taliban have hurt the Chinese economically due to all of this...

Let's just nuke China if this is true. I'm serious about this. They're nothing but a pain in the arse.

As I recall, two days before the attacks on US, wasn't there some news announcing diplomatic relations with Taliban & China following their assassination of Masoud?

Ever other claim made by the Taliban has been proven a lie. Why do you fall for this?

It's also been reported in the Times of India and the South China Morning Post. There have been several very cozy deals made between them in the past year.
We're nuts to be making plans with the chi-nazis.

I saw the same friendship economic cooperation pact on Sept. 10 signed in Bejing between the Talbian and China.

Bollocks. The tallies don't like the pictures of Bush and Jiang smiling, shaking hands and cooperating. Pure bovine scatology.

Well, being China's bestfriends, Sandy Berger, Bill and Hitlery aren't in the White House anymore, I guess they see no purpose in the USA anymore.

What plan is that?
Aren't you a wee bit suspicious that this tidbit is released while the APEC is going on??

I saw the Times of India report, havent seen the South China Morning Post yet-I'm really surprised they would have the story.

This sounds like a pure hoax. If China really is supporting the Taliban, having that relationship become public is the last thing the Chinese would want. It would basically force the Chinese to stop that support and become more voal in support of the U.S.
But it does sound an awful lot like a ham-handed attempt to create dissension among (temporary) allies. My guess is that its bogus.

If this is true, then it is clear that China falls into the category of a state supporter of terrorism.
Let's just get the evidence, make sure all of their own people find out about it, humiliate them at home and around the world, start arming their own enemies, give them problems at their borders, gather world support for economic sanctions, and send them into a deep depression if they don't change their minds. Acting like communists again.
Hey China - when are you going to grow up?

AS I have always said, anything is possible... when you accept that, you're never surprised or shocked. And nothing about this alleged accusation would surprise me.

"China is still assisting Taliban in the war against the United States." And how are they doing that? We own the skies in Afghanistan, so they can't fly in aid. The Northern Alliance controls the land connection between China and Afghanistan. About all that's left is to smuggle aid via Pakistan, and by the time the middlemen get their cut there wouldn't be much left.
This sounds like more Taliban B.S...

Just another reason NOT to buy anything MADE IN CHINA! Come on, people, you really don't need that toy, cutsey home decoration, or piece of clothing MADE IN CHINA. The communists have already stated that a capitalist will sell the rope with which to hang him by, so why give the Chicoms your hard-earned dough? Make do or do without!!!
