USMA Class of 1946, Captain Tucker commanded Company A, 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while leading an attack on enemy positions near Ukkonggi, North Korea on September 29, 1951 by enemy machine gun fire. For his leadership and valor, Captain Tucker was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

That’s a medal that’s a waste of any and all material that was used for it.
So many young men lost their lives, for nothing.
If you served in the Korean War you got one with the clasp ‘Korea’.
So many unneeded deaths.
