A contractor tasked with constructing a new retaining wall for the Molly Corbin Enhancement Project at the West Point Cemetery disturbed Corbins burial in October of 2016.
Name the contractor. No reason he should have been this close to the grave.
Wonder if they might have buried her husband there and they messed up the stone.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I need to point out that the bones were genetically male...
Oh nevermind
Molly Pitcher was Mary “Molly” Ludwig Hayes; she fought at the right battle, was recognized as Molly Pitcher upon her death, and her true story includes many more elements of the Molly Pitcher story, including having discovered the springs from which the pitchers of water were drawn.
Her nickname comes from soldiers calling for water, “Molly! Pitcher!”
Mary “Molly” Hayes was Molly Pitcher. While Molly Corbin performed certain actions that Molly Pitcher did, Hayes served at the right battle, discovered Molly Pitcher springs.
