Sometimes you think you know someone, just like these students thought they knew their teacher, but when they learned something about him they discovered that hes not the horrible person they thought he was. You just never know the life of any person, and for these students, they learned a valuable life lesson.

Wow, just wow.
Great. Thanks for posting.
You can volunteer to hold babies?
Heck, I’d pay to do that job.
I'm on the "on call" list to donate platelets at a large pediatric hospital near me.They call me pretty regularly and I'm proud to hop on the train to head in there. An hour or so on the table is a small price to pay to help a little kid with cancer, leukemia, sickle cell, etc.
However,I worked for 20 years in a major hospital right next door to the one where I donate. That hospital doesn't have a pediatric service because of that huge pediatric hospital being right next door. But,that hospital used to use our radiation therapy department for their kids so we'd routinely see sick kids being wheeled through the corridors on their way to/from Radiation Therapy. The sight of those kids broke my heart right to pieces. As a result I could *never* work with sick kids...I'm afraid I'd lose my tiny little mind.If it wasn't for that fact I could see myself doing that kind of thing.
Very good.
And welcome to FR.
That video is WORTH it!

Well, that made me cry.
Toughest guys I know make great dads. God bless this man.
Being a dad is the toughest job that I'll ever have. :-) Most important, too.
Quite often, I'll tell WBill Jr. "You're a good kid". Lately, he's taken to replying "You're a good daddy." Little does he know that's the highest praise I'll ever receive, anywhere, from anyone.
Seems sort of sad this guy never had family of his own.
Very good. But i think Calculus is much harder than giving blood or holding babies, yet he does all 3. Of course, since he was never married he would be looked upon with suspicion by many.
I have to say that is beautiful.
I would walk into my fifteen year olds room and shake my head and say this is your drill instructors problem.
Now he is one of the good men.
God bless you and yours. He will make you proud.
In my old age I still recall my junior high gym teacher-a Marine Sargent in WWI. He was also my fathers teacher. On our first day we lined up and he came down the line asking each boy his name. When I gave mine he said; “are you, naming my father, boy? I hope you are as good as your father.”
