I've got a question:
Why is the Confiteor consistantly omitted?

It's omitted because the Confiteor is now an "option" which can be replaced by the longer forms of the Kyrie Eleison.
It's one of the more horrific innovations in the Mass.

Why is the Confiteor consistantly omitted? For the same reason they omitted the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel.
