Terri Schiavo's parents want judge in the case to step aside.
Tuesday, September 9th
Terri's husband Michael has been at odds with her parents for years. There is a new development in the case of Terri Schiavo.
Terris parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, have filed an emergency motion to have Judge George Greer removed from the case. The 39-year-old Pinellas County womans husband Michael Schiavo is fighting them on the issue.
Terri has been in what some doctors call a persistent vegetative state for the past 13 years. Her parents and husband have been at odds over whether or not to remove her feeding tube or keep it in place.
The Schindlers want Judge Greer to step aside. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday and Greer is expected to make a decision on the matter at that time. The Schindlers want Greer to recuse himself from the case because they feel he cant make a fair decision.
They point to some comments the judge has made to the media in the past as proof.

Lord of Life, We give you praise because all we know of You speaks of life, and goodness, and blessing. Yet, as we look at Your world, we are stricken with grief that so often we seem to see more that relates to death than to life. In the midst of such a world, help us to so order our lives that they will in turn express Your life.

May I suggest praying to St. Therese of Lisieux, the "Little Flower", to ask her to intercede for Terri. After all, Terri's patron saint is Therese! And the saint said, "I want to spend my Heaven doing good on Earth." And another time she said, "I will let fall from Heaven a shower of roses." Many miracles have been attributed to her intercession.
During her life, she was very interested in praying for those souls who were most forsaken, and especially for those who needed a conversion of heart. She asked God to convert the heart of the notorious murderer Henri Pranzini, before his execution at the guillotine. She also asked God for a sign that her prayer would be answered. Right before his death, Pranzini asked for a crucifix and kissed it! She knew that God had answered her prayer, and it truly was a miracle, as the condemned man had shown absolutely no remorse for his crimes up to that point, and had refused all spiritual help. From that time on, she promised to always pray for people with hardened hearts.
So, let's ask St. Therese to pray for Terri, and also to change the hearts of those who would deny Terri the chance to live and recover.
MIRACULOUS INVOCATION TO ST. THERESE
O Glorious St. Therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and inspire the human family, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every need of body and spirit from the Heart of God. Holy Mother Church proclaims you "Prodigy of Miracles... the greatest saint of Modern Times." Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition (mention request) and to carry out your promises of spending heaven doing good on earth... of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses. Little Flower, give me your childlike faith, to see the Face of God in the people and experiences of my life, and to love God with full confidence. St. Therese, my Carmelite Sister, I will fulfill your plea "to be made known everywhere" and I will continue to lead others to Jesus through you.
Amen.

Excellent thought, Deo Volente.
Just so everyone knows ... the site of Missionaries Under the Sun (where I've followed the Schiavo case for over a year now) was hacked.
Here's the notice they sent out.
Dear Friends,
Unfortunately we've had an intruder into our web site. Therefore this is to tell you that the Missionaries Under the Sun is now located at:
http://www.missionsun.net The change in the address is in the extension. It is now net not org. Please change your bookmarks. The site has been partially updated to include the Oct/Nov. TCA. Very shortly, we will also have a new email address. Please continue to pray for Terri Schiavo; a hearing regarding the guardianship is scheduled for today, Nov. 4, 2003. Sadly, it is to be before Judge Greer.
God bless,
Mission Sun
