Prayers needed for Healing Miracle

This a request for prayer for a young woman in my Parish. She is 32, married, with little girls ages 2 and 4, and is 5 months pregnant with her 3rd child. She was diagnosed last week with Stage 3 lung cancer. She obviously is not going to have chemo because of the baby, but the situation has been made more complicated because it looks as though a tumor is wrapped around her pulmonary artery, so is inoperable.

They were taking her in to Dana Farber Cancer Institute yesterday to open her up and do some intense, directed radiation on the tumor and anything else they saw. I have not heard about what happened yet.

Her family is a wonderful, close one. She has 4 sisters and 2 brothers, and one of her sisters, who is a friend of mine quit her very good job last week so that she could take care of Ellen's kids. Her father is a retired pediatrician in town, and is loved by all who know him.

The Parish priests have asked everyone to invoke the intercession of Mother Teresa, and a local school is also invoking the intercession of Rosa Venerini, the Foundress of the Order of Nuns who began the school years ago, and who apparently needs one more miracle to be considered for Sainthood.

Please remember Ellen and her family in your prayers. We're literally storming the gates of heaven for this young woman! Thanks so much.

There must be something they can give her to keep the tumor from growing until the baby is born?


Will pray for children mother and that the tumor will shrink!

I'm hoping the same thing. If they could maintain her until the baby could survive outside the womb without too much intervention, then they could really do some aggressive chemo.

I'll let y'all know when I find out more.

I watched a woman with a brain tumor give up her life for her baby. They both died. It's horrible to contemplate.
