Keep them doggies rollin rawhide... Friday February 14th, 2003

So, how many of you remember the televison show Rawhide? Do you remember how when they had a cattle drive they had to keep the cows headed in the right direction? Well, evangelizing is much the same, you have to stay on track, you can't be diverted into conversations that lead into arguments and have nothing to do with Salvation.

Look here:

But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strife. For the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

That they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (2 Timothy 2:23-26)

What is it that Paul is telling us here? Is it not that when we evangelize, we are not to argue, not to get side tracked, but to stay focused on the plan of salvation so that, God willing, the man may be Saved? Isn't Paul saying to us, avoid foolish questions that have nothing to do with salvation, for the servant of the Lord who evangelizes, must not argue, but must instead be patient, mild tempered, knowledgeable about the Word of God, His word, and meek in showing the unbeliever the truths of salvation. Isn't that what Paul is saying?

So, when you start to evangelize, when you start to tell someone about the Lord and His plan of redemption, don't get waylaid by questions like "You don't really believe God made the world in six days do you?" or "I was baptized as a baby, so I should be ok, right?". Instead, think of the cowboys on Rawhide and how when the little doggie started to wander away, they would gently but firmly guide him back onto the right path.

As we approach what is best referred to as phase two of the war on terrorism, I pray that all those who are in contact with our men in the field, might strive purposely towards leading them to the Lord. Lead them away from eternal damnation and to eternal salvation, but do it gently, do it firmly, but gently, don't get off track, don't get waylaid, and remember, your job is to present them with Scripture, it is God's job to change their hearts. Don't get into discussions and arguments about religious doctrine or things that have nothing to do with salvation.

God can give them peace with what they are about to do, but only if they come to Him and are His. And how are they to come to Him if you who are in touch with them, don't tell them about Him?

The Lord our God, Messiah Yeshua be with you all, may He be with and guide our troops and our President, may He continue to forgive and bless the USA and may He see that what we are about to do is help finish what Saul left unfinished.

Amen.

If you are a Born Again Christian and you know someone in the military, you might take a moment to think about what this post doesn't say.

What it doesn't say is this:

If you don't introduce a unsaved memeber of the military to the Lord and he get's killed, you won't loose your savation, but, that soldier might spend eternity in damnation because of your inaction.

There aint no prugatory folks, only eternal salvation and eternal damnation.

Thank God that we have a Commander in Chief that is not preoccupied with pornography and the seduction and rape of girls young enough to be his daughter. Thank God we have George Bush in the oval office and not bill clinton, jimmy carter, or al gore.

So, what happens if you really screw up your introduction and the solider still dies lost?

Ah, but what if you don't screw up your introduction and the soldier is SAVED and then dies and greets you in heaven, saying "Thanks!"

How does that ole saying go? "Nothing vntured, nothing gained", or is it "If you never stand up, you never have to fear falling down."

Remember, someone had to introduce you to Christ if you are Saved. Are you not glad that person wasn't worried about 'screwing up the introduction'.

This post of yours proves the point of how easily one can get off of salvation and start arguing things that are really quite clear in the word of God. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/745053/posts

For yes, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are one but those wishing to argue will argue it, for they are not interested in salvation, they are interested in starting disention.

The Lord our God, Messiah Yeshua, Christ Jesus be with you.
