I have not read this book, but I have read others of A.N. Wilson's writings. He wrote a biography of C.S. Lewis, and I thought it is was rather spoil by his lack of sympathy for Lewis. The text seemed to be constantly bewailing Lewis' attitude to life, a sort of "why couldn't he get with the program?" attitude.

Wilson is very a able writer - and he gives expression to the post 1970s mind set of Western culture. Strongly individualistic, and seeing self-fulfiment as a end in itself. He is very cynical of the Lewis' conscious attempts to be a man of faith, and does not see any benefit of living out a tradtion. Yet also, in Wilson's writings, I sense a longing for the wholeness, the unrent universe, of the believer.

No, I have not read it, but from the description I found on this link it doesn't strike me as something I would want to read. You know I prefer Catholic writers... ;)
