People often use that passage to claim that God wants us to,experience abundance of material things ie prosperity gospel. However it is notable to realize that he did not feed them material things in abundance everytime he spoke, and only twice did he do so for very sp3cific reasons- and that did not include for the reason of teaching a prosperity message in regards to getting what we want if we just beleive hard enough.
Those who, have thrown th3mselves on God’s mercy for salvation will be fed by the word spiritually though when we are in his word often.
God may or may not allow material wealth in people’s lives for his own purposes- but there is no garunteee that he will do so for everyone who just “believes hard enough” however.
Completely agree. Jesus’ miracles, in general, were signs that pointed to higher spiritual realities. He didn’t come to earth to be a healer or a miracle worker, but to announce the breaking in of the Kingdom of God with power, and to atone for our sins on the Cross, thus reconciling God and man.
