If he really said this, we have a problem. Because he’s speaking for his boss.
Although I will say this explains a lot about Bergoglio if he really believes there is no “deposit of faith.” In other words, as far as he’s concerned, it all starts with him and he’s free to go along improvising as it strikes him best in carrying out his plan (of secular world domination by a Communist Ape of the Church).

One prominent Catholic pundit pointed out the root of the problem a few years ago. To paraphrase him: "Forget about tradition, forget about Catholic doctrine, and forget even about the most banal manifestations of nominal Christianity you see in the world today. I was astonished to learn how many leaders in the highest ranks of the Catholic Church don't even believe in God."
