I have become desensitized by the frequent accusations of “abuse” these days. Too many in current society view any form of discipline as abuse.

Same here. Additionally the accusation is thrown around so predictably for anyone someone else wants to destroy or take revenge on, that it's become almost meaningless.

Plus, accusations are simply allegations, not set in stone fact.
