So we’re not allowed to talk about when evangelicals do or say stupid things? Just Catholics and mainline protestants?

humm.
well, ‘glossing’ over all the details that are indeed nettling, the basic historical truth, that has been authenticated to my satisfaction in many original sources (christian and secular), is that, it was a long movement of christian white abolitionists, including many christian Founders of the Constitution (who not only protested, but, under the active providence of God, fought and won a bloody war against a so called ‘christian’ king and supporter of slavery and the trade) who actually sowed the seeds of black slavery’s demise in Britain and America.
but it is also true that many slaves were converted, by those same abolitionists and other Christian evangelists) to the Faith and drew great wisdom, comfort and solace from their true, suffering Savior, and were able to rise up when the opportunity came for freedom in the God sent person of A. Lincoln.
my two cents.
You can’t fix stupid
Ugh, that family, again.
I’m noticing he didn’t volunteer to be a slave
St Paul was right.
Acts 20:29-30 King James Version (KJV)
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Hey Morgana,
Seems like you are overly obsesessed with the Protestant side of the issue?
Maybe just a tad bit (Catholic) self-defensive?
