Such is the only explanation I can conceive for why it is better to close down healthy parishes if the only way they can be salvaged is to fill them with Latin Mass Catholics, or to let seminaries and religious orders die if the only way to perpetuate them is to restore traditional theological or liturgical practices to them. Better to let the Church die off, apparently, than have it fall into the hands of people you think are fundamentally evil.

(Where are the good fruits of the Second Vatican Council? Anyone?)

According to Francis, looking back to Vatican II, 60 years ago, would also be looking “back.”
If what he says is true, that Vatican II continues what was taught from 30 AD until 1968, then what “backwardism” is he talking about?
If Vatican II does not continue but deviates what was taught from 30 AD - through all of the popes, infallible decrees, Councils (Nicea to Trent), etc - then it is a new religion.

Thanks, Ebb Tide, for posting these articles (in general). I usually do not comment on them because they are usually new ground for me, so I learn a lot but don’t necessarily have a good comment to make.
What he says here is somewhat parallel to what happens in politics, at least here in the US, but he really shows how this works out in the Church.
Oh, such insanity, and I am not even a traditionalist!

I wonder how many people were aware that the influential theologian Yves Congar had praised Vatican II by saying it was like Russia's communist revolution? That should have alerted people that disaster had befallen the Church.
