the church said it is “grateful for the continuing efforts of those who work to ensure the Respect for Marriage Act includes appropriate religious freedom protections while respecting the law and preserving the rights of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters.”

Is the Mormon Church so foolish as to believe that the LGBTQ community is going to stop pushing until it has suppressed all opposition? Tony Perkins is correct to suggest that the LGBTQ community won't stop.

Indeed. As the men of Sodom pushed upon the door of the house of Lot to get at the pure men/angels inside, and pressing upon naive Lot who attempted to reason with them, so also homosexual activists seek to push their way into every place that represents the gender distinction and union that God ordained, to out benefit. Newborns are not to be assigned a gender, nor are fossils, and kindergartens are to be places of indoctrination of the homosexual ethos, etc.
