Pope Francis writes to controversial nun, thanking her for 50 years of LGBTQ ministry

Pope Francis has sent an encouraging letter to an American nun thanking her for her 50 years of ministry to LGBTQ Catholics, more than two decades after she was investigated and censured by the Vatican for her work.

In his letter dated Dec. 10, Francis wrote that Sister Jeannine Gramick has not been afraid of “closeness” and without condemning anyone had the “tenderness” of a sister and a mother. “Thank you, Sister Jeannine, for all your closeness, compassion and tenderness,” he wrote.

He also noted her “suffering ... without condemning anyone.”

Gramick, who lives just outside of Washington, D.C., in Mount Rainier, Md., said that the letter felt like it was “from a friend.”

“Of course, I was overjoyed,” she said. “It felt like a turning point in the church, because for so long, this ministry has been maligned and in the shadows.”

For decades, Gramick and her New Ways Ministry co-founder, the late Rev. Robert Nugent, were considered controversial by some church leaders for the workshops they did about the science and theology around LGBTQ topics.

Gramick said official investigations came after the late Cardinal James Hickey, the former archbishop of Washington, wrote to the Vatican asking officials to pressure Gramick and Nugent to stop their ministry. An investigation was launched in 1988 and in 1999, the Vatican issued its censure.

“It was devastating,” she said. “What can I say? It didn’t feel good.”

But now, Jorge the Homosexulist, makes her feel "good".

This is in no way creepy and it doesn’t reflect badly on the catholic church at all. Why suck up to them? Once they get in they’ll just ransack the joint and leave it in ruins.

Regarding the same topic: Bergoglio's pandering to sodomites:

Francis Is About to Produce Another Skeleton in His Closet

The homosex activist Francis Bergoglio will indeed punish Archbishop Giacomo Morandi, the secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith for opposing homosex "blessings," and cautiously questioned the opportunity of Traditionis Custodes.

"When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong." - Galatians 2:11

Who is the successor to Paul, who will get in Francis' face and call him out for the clear wrong that he preaches and practices?

.....And just like that, Catholics the world over looked for other Christian faiths in effort to be closer to God.

When the church said Sinners Welcome, I don’t think that’s what God meant.

Last summer a retired Argentine bishop explained Bergoglio with a quote from Juan Peron: “To my friends, everything. To my enemies, not even justice.” He perceives the LGBT crowd as his allies, so he has nothing but love and admiration for them.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, a lone voice in the wilderness.

How many of the LGBTQ community members have repented of their sexual sin and have been brought back into the divine alignment in those 50 years that she has ministered to them? I would bet that she has not been very successful in her mission.

I don’t know how to break this to you, but in the protestant side of the fence here things aren’t much better. Catholics might as well stay at home at work to fix things there. We are trying this same Sisyphean task over here in Baptist land. At least you know the lay of the land over there... better chance of success. Pray for us an we will for you.

It’s getting to where a decent Baptist fellow and a decent Catholic has more in common with each other than either of us do with our leaders. It is what it is...

We’re unique here in Louisville in that we have an equally large number of Catholics and Southern Baptists. About a quarter of the population each. But we can’t get a Republican mayor elected and many local officials are liberal loons. Downtown goes close to 100% Dem, many are “Christian” blacks.I blame all the Catholic mass-goers here who vote liberal for the type of leaders we get. Saw a front license plate in the parish two blocks away a couple of Sundays ago reading “ZERO EMISSIONS”. Baptists vote better than us here.
