Yesterday, America reported that Cardinal Luis F. Ladaria, S.J., head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, had sent a letter to be shared with every bishop in the United States, warning that a proposed discussion over a national policy about pro-choice politicians receiving Communion could “become a source of discord rather than unity.” Cardinal Ladaria said that only after an “extensive and serene” two-stage dialogue, first among the bishops themselves and then with pro-choice politicians, should formal discussion of such a policy begin.
In other words, the C.D.F. just pulled the brake on the possibility that the U.S. bishops might do something definitive on this topic at their June meeting. But even in the exceedingly unlikely event that every bishop miraculously agreed on how to approach the question of Communion and abortion after a lengthy dialogue process, it still would not resolve the political question of abortion in favor of the Catholic position. And insofar as the debate over Communion for politicians absorbs and consumes the political and evangelical energy the Catholic Church devotes to the pro-life cause, it is being tragically misdirected. Such efforts are far more likely to entrench partisan divisions ever deeper into the life of the church than they are to draw hearts and minds to the cause of defending unborn life...
Some form of public argument over Communion was inevitable once Joseph R. Biden Jr. was elected as our second Catholic president. It was brewing before the election in the debates over whether Catholics could vote in good conscience for Mr. Biden or any other pro-choice Democrat. It accelerated when Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, announced a special working group to address the “difficult and complex situation” of working with Mr. Biden.

Rather than a false unity as proposed by CDF, it's great to stir up these issues and make people more aware that abortion is still a moral issue for society.
Then maybe they should focus on what the real issue is ... preventing one in the state of mortal sin from committing a sacrilege by receiving the Eucharist in an unworthy state. In other words, the priests/bishops are in a sense protecting these people from making matters worse for their souls. AND ... preventing them from receiving preserves the sanctity of the sacrament.
The decision to give communion to scumbags such as Biden and Pelosi has already caused a major rift. No standards remain in the RC Church. Every life is precious, except for those who wish to preserve America as founded.
Bergoglio, working through the CDF, sure managed to head off the USCCB and bring back the old “seamless garment” of VII. Blast from the past.
Cupich has already been out there crowing over it.
“ Then maybe they should focus on what the real issue is ... preventing one in the state of mortal sin from committing a sacrilege by receiving the Eucharist in an unworthy state...”
Nope. That’s not it.
The administer of communion, a priest, knowing that the communicant, a public figure, a declared mortal sinner, on record as a legislator and proponent of an act that is a mortal sin, knows that the communicant is in the state of unrepentant mortal sin. The administer will thereby be in the state of mortal sin by giving the body of Christ to be consumed by someone in the state of mortal sin. Now the administer is in the state of mortal sin. He must refuse or be in sin. That’s all. If refusing means ruining his relationship with the guy, causing awkwardness, anger, backlash, withdrawal of funding or any other worldly concern, then welcome to it. It’s called Christianity. Look up the foundation and history. It is full of and founded on martyrdom
That’s just another part of the equation. What I said was not incorrect.
It doesn’t have to be a war... just follow the faith.
Archbishop Cordileone is a HOLY man and he is right....the Pope is a MARXIST Socialist.
If a priest is adamantly opposed to giving communion to a pro-abortion politician, though his bishop demands it. He should set aside the communion wafer to be used, and put in a diluted drop of Bitrex (available at Amazon) on it.
Dilutions of as little as 10 ppm of Bitrex are unbearably bitter to most humans. If done just once, after a peripheral reference to the sadness of dead unbaptized infants.

“...warning that a proposed discussion over a national policy about pro-choice politicians receiving Communion could “become a source of discord rather than unity.”
Anything short of denying Communion indicates the Church hierarchy must not believe Christ is present in the Eucharist.
According to Dr. Adrian Rogers in his “The Lost World” sermon:
“You say, “Well, a woman has a right to determine whether or not she's going to have a baby.”And now that Biden and company are back, His Cup is gonna fill ...Not after the baby’s conceived ... not after the baby’s conceived.
She talks about being “pro-choice”?
She has a choice whether to have a live baby or a dead one.
That's her choice: have a live baby or to have a dead baby.
But she is going to have a baby, because there is a baby living in her!”
“But we've learned the way of the heathens.
But the land is flooded with innocent blood ...
And the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness.”
and spill ...
on us.
Communion with abortion?
Good luck with that ....
