Oh I give up.

Some devout believers are impossible to reason with, precisely because they think faith - not reasoning - is the path to understanding.

“People will remember all of the terrible things they have done to others and there will be no forgiveness for it. It all belongs to the sinner.”

I started to read a book that had an interesting premise - that EVERYONE will be in the presence of God after they die. (He is omin-present!) But - for the reasons you stated, being in the presence of God for the unforgiven sinner will be like standing in the flames of His presence like the stories of the Old Testament.

Because since Christ gave the great commission, men have traveled to foreign lands to share the truth. Many could not speak the language of countries they went to well, nor write as well, but God used them to bring others to Christ.

If you think there are Americans who could not learn from him due to his lack of knowing proper American English sentence and grammar structure, then you do NOT know God. Besides, looks to me like many here thought he did a pretty good job.

Let me know when you write someone in Nigerian to bring someone you know there the truth, or any other country foreign to you.

Then we can talk about who is not worthy of listening to.

News for you, I will be sharing other commentaries he writes, because I think the more he has a chance to do so, the better he will get.

Bob,

Your words intrigued me: Revelation 20:9 indicates there will be a finality to the sinners and their punishment. And over time they will be forgotten.

When reading Revelation 20:9 I don't see your point but would like to. Can you elaborate please.

Revelation 20:9, NIV: "They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them."

What part of the fire came down from heaven and devoured them." do you not understand? This is the one time all of mankind are together in one place. The saved are in Gods city (New Jerusalem) and in plain sight of each other (remember the transparent walls?). The unsaved are livid to be that close but denied entrance. They literally see how wonderful Heaven is but will never know its pleasures. Then they are utterly destroyed in one swift firestorm. Is that plain enough?

Well that’s what I get for reading the Bible. I could go to Mass and fall asleep during some priestly Bible sounding speech and go home and feel better about myself. Or if I really need a pick-me-up I could pop in a Joel Osteen positive feeling speech. I’m just a non-conformist.

True. I like to think of the bible as a history book as none of it is actually the words of god. Example: The ten commandments was the closest interpretation that could be put into our limited human language.

If you read it as a history book it can be extremely interesting. Such as genesis flood which the Burckler crater in the Indian Ocean 5000 years ago likely did create storms and waves of water that likely flooded the area all the way to today Turkey. The Burckler asteroid doesn't lessen the biblical story because only an act of god could have know at that time to build the Ark long before the event.

I've always wondered why people would sacrifice their children to the false Gods such as Moloch for any reason. Which is what the story of Abraham and partly the story of Jesus birth was about. Historically speaking it wasn't all that long ago when massive differential ratio's of male/female at it's peak was 9,000 years ago of 17:1 female to male. This was likely a natural differential. In my opinion they likely didn't understand why god was balancing out the ratios. God creating more men.

That wouldn’t be a problem even if you were. I always like a good debate - and that involves people trying to convince each other..

I’ll take that as a challenge. In algebra there is a thing called “Proof by Induction.” You make an assumption and see if it leads to a right conclusion. Lets assume that God wrote the Bible and see where it leads. Our expectations of what we will find certainly changes. Based on our understanding of the character of God, do we think that can find evidence that God is the author?
Prov 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Some of what we know of the character of God, we find in scripture. I assume from one of your posts that this in not what you would expect God to do. The fact is, we should be looking for things that God has hidden not just from us but he has also hidden things from Satan.
1 Cor 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Romans 5 says that Adam is a figure of Christ. It turns out its not just Adam, but Able, Noah, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Boaz, Mordecai and others are also types of Christ. And not just people but things are figures of Christ like the ark, the rainbow, the high priest, the city of refuge to name a few. Every sacrifice gives a different perspective of Christ. I can defend this list if you want. It is evidence that the author of the Old Testament knew about Christ. Knowledge of the future is a big deal and it is on display in every Book of the Bible. Joseph, a figure of Christ, was rejected by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused and put in prison, and by telling the future was elevated to second in command. Note that Christ has not yet revealed himself to his brothers (blindness in part happened to Israel) nor taken a gentile bride.

I want to talk about just one of the symbols, the rainbow. Scripture says that God is light. We cannot see the high frequencies or the low frequencies but we believe they are there because we accept the evidence. They are the Father and the Spirit. In the middle of the spectrum is the rainbow, which is Christ, the part of “God” that we can see and the part of “Light” that we can see with our eyes. Compare Christ and the rainbow with the following two verses.
Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Gen 9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
Interesting, the author is using properties of light not known in those days, to illustrate the trinity.
1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
This is where we may have a problem. So I’ll end with a question. How do you explain “color” to a blind man?

“How do you explain “color” to a blind man?”

How do you explain “opinion” to the closed-minded?

Fungi said:”“The torment of hell is in such away that you won’t wish your enemy to go their” How can we believe an exegetical analysis of a writer who cannot write correctly? Don’t take this wrong.(by the way...”don’t take this wrong???” You could use a few refresher lessons from Miss Pearl-Clutcher’s book of English grammar yourself!)

Acts 4:13
When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus.

John 7:14About halfway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach. 15 The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man attain such learning without having studied?” 16“My teaching is not My own,” Jesus replied. “It comes from Him who sent Me.…

The poster’s teaching and theology are correct...”nuff said!”

You accuse me of writing this

It was written by a Nigerian Christian who does have some trouble with English. Yet I thought he did great.

I would like to see you write something fir a foreign audience in a any language other than English and do as well as he did.

Your arrogance borders on ignorance.

I can only imagine the many haters who attacked Christians in years past who tried to share the truth with a nation that holds up smut as moral while attack true morality as evil while attacking decent children’s books as wrong fir society

You owe a Chima an apology

Opinion?

We know that the dead sea scrolls were written 100 years before Christ lived. Yet the author described the punishment of Jesus better than those who witnessed it

By the way, the scrolls were a copy of the original manuscript written 600 years before Jesus was crucified

Not opinion?
No Fact

Only a true God could give such prophetic ideas to mortal men

His wasn’t the only one. There are hundreds and hundreds of time the Scriptures predicted events in the future.

Opinion? No, Fact

Men like you have tried for years to discredit the Bible, yet time and time again events places and people have been proved to exist and happen through archeological discoveries and documented Lakers like the Dead Sea Scrolls

Yet those like you continue to claim the Bible is wrong

Now we even see scientists claim the World was once so full of water it was higher than it Everest. Oh they say it was billions of years ago, yet these same scientists tell us the the moon is not far away from earth fir it to be as old as it is

Which is it? Opinion, or Fact?

I prefer to believe what my my lying eyes tell me. And the proof is the Bible had more truths in it than most Universities on the planet do today

We have more proof that Christ existed and the miracles he performed took place than we have that Julius Caesar existed. We have more archeological evidence to prove moments mentioned in the a scriptures happened than we do to prove that man came from monkeys yet everyone believes the lie that we evolved. Hell we have more evidence to prove evolution never existed than we have to prove global warming exists

Not opinion, fact!

My comment to you was sent from my phone.

I started reading what you sent, before I realized you were quoting what Fungi said.

It wasn’t until later I realized you were defending my guest writer, Chima.

My bad and I apologize. I am a vehement defender of my Nigerian brother, as you can tell.

Next time I will read the whole comment before jumping to conclusions about what I read. Especially on my phone.

Thanks for defending my brother in Christ.

God bless, and again I apologize.

I was indeed supporting you and was chiding the other poster who had decried our Nigerian brother for the simple miss spelling of a word; dismissing a wonderful raw act of preaching from the guts of his heart and soul as a sign of uneducated ignorance! I was directed in my soul to cite the two passages I mentioned that the founders of our Faith, Christ and the Apostles, were also accused of being ignorant uneducated men!

I had just wanted to clue you in on it and perhaps was less clear in my formatting. So forgive me also. Christ is risen and is presently alive with the Father, preparing a place for us! He is risen indeed!

Cheers!

True. I like to think of the bible as a history book as none of it is actually the words of god. Example: The ten commandments was the closest interpretation that could be put into our limited human language.

Moses did not pen Genesis as a first hand witness ... what he penned had to come from someplace for it to have credibility, from which the rest of the Word is based.

Literal reading of Genesis, and backed up by Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Peter, Christ Himself as well as Paul describes TWO floods... the first one is recorded without a man abled timestamp in Genesis 1:2. But Jeremiah and Peter sure had something to say about a flood that was not associated with Noah.

Given that the enlightened use abortion as their prime ritual sacrifice there is nothing new under the sun. I am totally unfamiliar with the male/female ratio...

Notice that so called 'rib' taken from the man Adam to form the woman translates to 'curve' as in something was removed from the man Adam to form the woman, and it was not a bone. Are you familiar with something else such as DNA shaped like a curve?
