In comparison to...? It is what I am using now. A 2020 version came out, though.
The ‘95 is from Lockman. The 2020 is Zondervan. NASB has roots in the KJV.
Yeah, I know TMI.

There are word-for-word translations like NASB and ESV and the so-called thought-for-thought translations like NIV and NLT.
I often use the NASB1995 side by side with the NIV here at Bible Gateway John 3: 33

Just for some reference... Here is the same verses from the Geneva bible (Predating the King James) with it’s footnotes (). I started reading the NIV a couple years ago because the language of the King James was just hard to read and then I did a verse by verse bible study using the NASB, that so far has made it up through Daniel https://freerepublic.com/~aznascarfan/.
The Geneva makes it seem like both of the other two have tried to sugar coat God’s word.
20)Woe unto them that speak good of evil, (Which are not ashamed of sin, nor care for honesty, but are grown to a desperate impiety) and evil of good, which put darkness for light and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for sour. 21)Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes (which are contemners of all doctrine and admonition) and prudent in their own sight. 22)Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, (which are never weary, but show their strength, and brag in gluttony and drunkeness.) and unto them that are strong to pour in strong drink: 23) Which justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him.

That sounds good, too! The Pilgrims’ Bible.

If I don’t trust modern religionist to give me my doctrine I’m sure not going to trust them to give me a new and improved scripture.

The dark ages were named as such for a reason.
And false prophets were named as such for a reason.
Was this new Bible written by those that worship on Saturday or Sunday? Do they baptize babies or adults only? Or do they baptize at all? Do they believe works has a key role in salvation or not? Do they pray to Mary or to God? Do they preach about a rapture or are they preparing for the tribulation? Are they ordaining women now and/or marrying homos?
So who wrote this new Bible? It wasn't God. Because:
Amos 3:
7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Nothing. He does nothing but...and rewriting scripture definitely qualifies as something...Sooo
They can't get God to actually speak to a single one of them on any subject at all for 2k years and I'm supposed to believe they can rewrite the whole Bible and get it right? The Bible is supposed to be the Word of God, but not any more. Now it's the word of Tom, Dick, and Harry. It's a product of the devil as far as I'm concerned.

I just recommended that you might compare side by side. If you read Greek and Hebrew good for you.

Neutral good was always the alignment I chose. That way you could do what needs doing to further the cause of good. Including fighting evil.
