I also conclude the term abomination strongly refers to homosexuality. Daniel (no pun) uses it to describe the future desecration of the first temple by Antiochus IV Epiphanes (not the second I mistakenly posted above). So Christ clarifies his by referencing the prophet Daniel. First, why the need to do so? Second, what is/are the meaning(s)? Interestingly, He mentions, “let the reader understand.” I believe this is directed at those in that time. Could abomination stand for Obama-nation (who is strongly suspected of being a homosexual)? Much to digest for those interested in understanding this and other prophecies.

“Yes, but it includes moral sins and IIRC those predominate”

I’m not sure what you mean. All sins are moral sins by definition.

God works with Numbers.

Indeed, and tho the values may differ, the sets are what's important.

Seven days, seven weeks, seven years, two sets of seven, seven sets of seven, etc. A Jubilee year is the year following seven sets of 7 years, or the 50th year.

NY legalized abortion sometime in 1970. I don't know the exact date, but it was three years before the USSC legalized abortion for ALL of America. Deaths from the COVID plague began in the US in February, of 2020. Fifty years after NY legalized abortion. 2023 will be the 50th Anniversary of Rov-v-Wade. 2028 will be the 2,000th year since since the Crucifixion. It's all miraculous intertwined all the way back to Adam - unbelievably so, and another of God's ways of letting humankind know He is real.

Ref:

The next day, the Senate passed the Assembly version of the bill. The day after that, April 11, [1970] Mr. Rockefeller signed it into law. ''The wives of the Senate and the Assembly put this bill through,'' he said.

That number is a bit like illegals in this country. I believe it to be old, not updated and way under reported.

We, the USA, and the world are due a very nasty judgment.

I mean in contrast with ceremonial laws. http://peacebyjesus.net/Homosex_versus_the_Bible.html#Grammatical

Declared to be sin also in the New Testament:

“Their women exchanged the normal practices of sexual intercourse for something which is abnormal and unnatural.

Similarly the men, turning from natural intercourse with women, were swept into lustful passions for one another. Men with men performed these shameful horrors, receiving, of course, in their own personalities the consequences of sexual perversity.”

(New Testament, Romans 1:26,27)

True about Leviticus.

But not true about the other books of the Pentateuch

Deut 24:4 says that it is “toebah” for a woman to divorce one husband, marry a second husband, and then divorce the second husband and remarry the first.

Deut 25:16 uses the word “toebah” in reference to cheating someone in the marketplace. The context has nothing at all to do with pagan temple practices. It is simply describing something revolting to God.

Psalm 88:8 speaks of God making a man a “toebah” to his own acquaintances, even while he was calling upon the Lord for deliverance

Prov 11:1 refers back to Deut 25:16 and repeats the fact that unjust practices in the marketplace are “toebah” to God.

Thanks for the ping. Can’t argue with scripture. As I have gotten older I think I have realized that we can’t change society anymore. Even Revelation and other parts of scripture tells us in this age we are in.... morality will continue to decline. We can’t back it up for any real length of time. To think we can make society more moral is kinda like ignoring or rejecting the biblical prophecies. What we can do, and what I think we are commanded to do..... is to tell individuals about the good new of Jesus death and resurrection, and the grace and salvation it means for those who accept him. I’m not saying we don’t vote for morality, or recognize and point out society’s decline... we should..... but we have to realize what scripture says is going to happen. We have to focus on individuals and teach, baptize, and disciple them in the way of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Just my humble thoughts.

On the side of Truth we draw Old Testement comparissons and attach New Testement Scriptures. As noted the author quotes NT Scripture, God, the same yesterday, today and forever.

On the other side of that equasion we have a cultural divide. Programmened by the media and a society that says give us Barabbas. Bowing at the altar of balack and sodom and gohmorah.

They reinforce these beliefs because they have been conditioned by new age philosophers posing as preachers (interject oprah and joel olsteen for examples)

Through their voluntary deceit they repeat the lie that God no longer oposses the gay life style in the NT.

Afterall, how could modern culture be wrong when it is so widespread? Its taught in schools as an alternative lifestyle and condoned from the pulpit.

As for abortion, they defend its process based upon the most marginal circumstances. Then readily seek to implement its acceptence in our public education outlets.

Jesus is about to call us home.

If that doesn't bring down the wrath of the Almighty, I don't know what does. The shedding of blood is the one thing biblical history has shown causes Him to stir.

Agreed. And people will wonder why the Tribulation judgments will be so severe.....

Yep.

What was once a shinning example of a Christian nation, in one generation, led the world to commit the greatest atrocities in mankind's history. How is that statement wrong?

Will Jeremiah 51 and Revelation 18 be fulfilled in our lifetime? There may be no stopping it now, but at least we know why.
