LOUISVILLE, KY; A Louisville man was arrested after allegedly causing damage to a historic church.
In a letter to parishioners, the pastor at Saint Martin of Tours Church said the man broke into the sanctuary late Sunday night and caused extensive damage to the altar.
An on-duty security guard was able to detain the suspect until officers arrived. Police have not identified the suspect.
The church will be closed for a few days while the damage is assessed, the pastor says. Officials say the pastor and Archbishop Joseph Kurtz will be working with the archdiocesan insurance company on repairs.

At the beginning of the video, the video flashes a pic and the name Beloba Kampize. From a previous story?
The scum are coming out of the woodwork and getting bolder.
Lemme guess... Ahmed Abdul Mohammad.
Yes, but was he at least wearing a facemask?
Time to sucker punch a few. Thats their currency.
I live 15 minutes from this church and have attended Mass there many, many times. When I heard this news and saw the pictures a day or so ago, it was absolutely heartbreaking.
What’s his NAME?? Where’s the PICTURE??
The ‘suspect’ should have required extensive medical care after falling down stairs at the church..............even if the church had no stairs!
Yeah that guy is going up the river for vehicular homicide.
The desecrationist is identified as Romaric Houmgag, 35
Not unironically he is almost a dead ringer for the other guy.
Guess biting the heads off bats is too conservative for them.
