God's Medicine

In John 5 it tells about the pool of Bethesda, where people were waiting all around it for an angel would come down and trouble the water and the first one that stepped in was healed of whatever they had. In Mark 5 it tells about the women with the issue of blood that touched the hem of Jesus garment and was healed. We have something better than the pool of Bethesda. We have something better than the hem of Jesus garment we have the word of God. The word of God is God's medicine. Those things worked from the outside-in, but the word of God works from the inside-out.

Proverbs 4:20-23 says, 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. The word health is translated as medicine, remedy, healing, and cure. Notice, it says the word of God is (present tense) not will be health. So, whatever the condition there is (present tense) healing available. The scriptures tells us the word of God is powerful and is the power of God (Hebrews 4:12 & Romans 1:16). So, the healing power of God is available 24/7. You don't have to lay around a pool or find the hem of Jesus garment, you can store the word in you. Those things worked from the outside-in, but the word of God works from the inside-out. You can put it in your heart(spirit) and take it wherever you go.

Now, it's very important that you speak in line with the word of God. Romans 10:8 says, the word of God is near you even in your mouth and in your heart. When the word is in your mouth it will get in your heart. And that's what you want the word in your mouth and heart. Your eyes, ears, and mouth are entrances to your heart(spirit). When the word gets in your heart that's when it starts working for you. Because Jesus taught that the word of God is seed and the spirit of man is like soil (Mark 4). And we know a seed does nothing until it is planted. And notice, a seed works from the inside-out.

This is an important point, why does someone plant seed. You plant seed for one reason, to get out of it what's in it. The thing you want is already in it and you plant it to get it. So, whatever kind of seed you sow will determine what you will get. So, if all you have sown in you is the negative report of how bad it is or how bad it will get then that's all you have to reap. Isaiah 53:1 says, "Who shall believe our report" (the report of the Lord). Somebody might say you have to call it like it is, ok but have you noticed neither God nor Jesus waits until all the symptoms are gone and you feel and look better before they call you healed. In Genesis 17:5 God told Abraham, "For a father of many nations have I made thee" and yet Romans 4:19 says his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead. And yet, God said that they would have a child. Not after their bodies were strong and well, but right in their conditions.

Notice, what God did He changed their names from Abram(high father) to Abraham(father of a multitude) and from Sarai(Princess) to Sarah(Princess of a multitude). He changed their names to get them to hear and speak according to what He said and not according to the conditions. God said in Joel 3:10, "Let the weak say I am strong." In your condition of weakness you sow seeds of strength. The word says God is your strength and with God as your strength you are strong. So, what God wants you to do is agree with him, because what He says is the truth no matter what anyone or anything says. John 17:17 says, "Thy word is truth" and Romans 3:4 says, "Let God be true, but every man a liar." See, God speaks truth not facts. So, for you to be telling the truth of the matter you are going to have to agree with God. Even Jesus didn't speak conditions, in Mark 2 Jesus told a lame man "Rise, take up thy bed, and go thy way unto thine house." Right in his condition not after his legs were strong, but while he was still lame. He was calling him healed because for him to do what he said he would first have to be healed. A lame man can't walk. In Mark 3 a man had a withered hand unable to stretch it out and Jesus told him, "Stretch forth thine hand" right in his condition. Again he was calling the man's hand healed because in his present state he couldn't. The condition conforms to God's word. Because the word of God is always greater than the condition. That's why you side with the word and not the condition. And you side with the word because God said in Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. The word will accomplish, but it first has to be spoken.

God has already done something about that condition. Remember Abraham when God told him that He has made him the father of many nations right when his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead. And yet God said something had already been done about their conditions. Well, right in your condition God says something has already been done about it. In Isaiah 53:4 it says, "And with his stripes we are healed." And in 1Peter 2:24 Peter looking back at the cross agrees and says, "By whose stripes ye were healed." So, now what do I do, Isaiah 53:1 believe God's report. Then what, speak in line with God's report. Notice, Romans 10:10 says that with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Confession means to say the same thing. And salvation means to deliver, protect, heal, preserve, make whole. We have limited the word salvation to just mean being born again, but it's much more. Notice, you confess unto salvation, in other words you speak in line with what God says unto salvation. Isn't that what God did with Abraham and Sarah He got them to speak in line with what He said. That agrees with the word Proverbs 12:6 says, "The mouth of the upright will deliver them." Proverbs 12:18 says, "The tongue of the wise is health/healing. And Proverbs 14:3 says, "The lips of the wise shall preserve them." Understand that where you see lips, mouth, tongue it is referring to your words. Your words will never bring healing if all you speak/sow is sickness. And a lot of times people spend there time praying, but pay no attention to the words they say after they pray. And your saying is canceling your praying. Notice, Hebrews 10:23 says to hold fast your confession of faith without wavering. You can't agree with God one day and agree with the condition the next and expect something to happen. You have to keep your words in line with his.
