Out of curiosity I looked it up. There is simply no way to legally remove a pope. So Francis can go on saying crazy and dangerous things for years to come. No one can legally stop him.

But note that I said “legally” there. I’m guessing the Vatican has certain back-alley methods to “retire” a pope. That’s probably what happened to Benedict. That’s a story we’ll never know.

Wasn’t a Pope supposed to be religious? Steeped in the study of the Bible? A man of charity and a man of clarity? Truly a Holy man and a leader of the flock? This Argentine seems to be a man of limited intelligence, of diffuse thought; he is a man who though tricked-out in liturgical dress is an empty suit. He is the leader of a diminishing flock, and the Catholic Church follows the fool’s path of the failed protestant Churches. It leads one to wonder if we are approaching the end of time.

I looked it up and it seems like a Pope CAN legally be deposed:

Can the Church Depose an Heretical Pope

The tipping point apparently is when/if the Pope, teaching as Pope, defines a doctrine of faith or morals, to be held by the universal Church.
