Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)

Isaiah (The Servant Songs) Chapter 52

The Suffering and Glory of the Servant

13 See, my servant will act wisely[b];
he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him[c]—
his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being
and his form marred beyond human likeness—
15 so he will sprinkle many nations,[d]
and kings will shut their mouths because of him.
For what they were not told, they will see,
and what they have not heard, they will understand.

New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)

These last few verses of isaiah 52 are the prelude to Isaiah 53.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
How Awesome You Are,
and How Glorious!
You Alone Are Worthy to Be Praised,
For You Alone Are My Strength And My Song,
My Rock and My Redeemer!
You Are The One True God Of Abraham,
And Know The End From The Beginning
and the Beginning From The End,
Because You Are The Beginning and The End of All Things.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

We need to remember that the original ancient scrolls that contained these amazing words did not have Chapter and Verse divisions, punctuation, or even many vowels. This ending of Chapter 52 was never meant to be separated from Isaiah 53, which we will look at tomorrow. These Passages form what scholars call 'the Fourth Servant Song", or "The Suffering Servant". It will be quoted throughout History, not only by the New Testament Writers, but by such diverse people from Handel (in his "Messiah") to Mel Gibson (in the opening frame of "The Passion of the Christ"). Songs, Art, Movies, and Hymns in great numbers can trace their provenance back to the Fourth Servant Song of Isaiah.

Jewish and Christian Scholars of course differ on the identity of the Suffering Servant. But no one denies that the verses are genuine, and were written by Isaiah.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!
