WASHINGTON, D.C. The U.S. Catholic bishops conference (USCCB) praised the Supreme Court on Thursday for a decision that keeps the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program intact for now.
First, to DACA youth, through todays decision and beyond, we will continue to accompany you and your families. You are a vital part of our Church and our community of faith. We are with you, said USCCB president Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles and Bishop Mario Dorsonville, auxiliary bishop of Washington and the USCCBs migration committee chair in a June 18 statement.
In a majority opinion written mostly by Chief Justice John Roberts and joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, and Elena Kagan, the Court said that that the Department of Homeland Security failed to meet the Administrative Procedure Acts (APA) standard of providing a reasoned explanation for its ending DACA in September of 2017. Roberts wrote the opinion except for Part IV; Justice Sonia Sotomayor also joined the opinion except for that section.

I, John Roberts, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court under the Constitution and laws of the United States; and that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.Yep, back in those days someone who violated an oath would not be celebrated but excommunicated.
Legally, that is still the law today in the Church, but enforcing it will get you severely punished.
Money, money, money.. Basically DACA is human trafficking at tax payers expense.. bunch of cons..
Are there any institutions we haven’t lost?
The USCCB is a collection of Liberal Activists masquerading as clergy. The infiltration of the church by liberals began in the 1960’s.
The church, beginning in the 60’s, began to have issues recruiting priests so, the standards were lowered and blind eyes were turned to misbehavior.
The turning a blind eye was all the opening the perverts and subversives needed to see.
If the USCCB was a religious organization it wouldnt be headquartered in Washington DC.
If you can’t enforce borders and laws pertaining to who comes in; do you really have a country or is it all show?
The SCOTUS just ignored the part of the Constitution about immigration; can’t come here illegally.
I expected nothing less from that lowlife scum.
If I had Bill Gates’ money, I would find out why Roberts has been betraying the American people and the human race.
Thanks USCCB, Francis, et al.
Sixties? Much earlier.
Of course, there have always been issues finding good God-Fearing men to commit to a life completely devoted to God.
But, it accelerated beginning in the 60’s. It became a crisis. It became alarming beginning in that decade. For very obvious reasons. Drug use was being promoted as just a personal choice. Abortion was being promoted likewise. As was homosexuality, lesbianism, radical feminism, etc...all of these things began to take-off in the 60’s. And, those that kept to or at least had as a goal, to adhere to Godliness began to be mocked and attacked.
You can’t say that ALL the bishops are liberal activists because they aren’t.
Dangerous to speak in such general terms.
