Except for adultery (Jesus,Bible).

The other allowance for divorce for a believer is if their spouses rejects their faith and decides to leave them...(Holy Spirit,Bible)

The idea that a marriage, conducted before God and man is “null” is to allow folks to squiggle out from the proscribed standard D’s set by God.

Example, a woman who divorced her husband for multiple infidelities was bothered by the RCC for a year asking for her to agree to anullment as her ex-husband was converting to RC since his girlfriend (one he was adulterous with) wanted to marry in he RCC.

Finally had to have her attorney write a cease and desist letter to the Diocese. Six months later, she received a letter from the diocese informing her that her marriage, conducted outside of the RCC had been declared nullified. What an insult. Attorney was willing to sue, but woman moved on.

That kind of thing?

Odd thing, the ex-husband and new wife attend a Protestant church....

Hmmm, was the husband a major donor? That might explain the diocese going thru hoops and convolutions to grant him his annulment?
