(Music in The Bible)
Ecclesiastes 7:5
It is better to heed the rebuke of a wise person
than to listen to the song of fools.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Almighty and Eternal Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful You Are!
Your Magnificence and Perfection are Overwhelming.
And yet, even more so, Your Justice,
Your Righteousness,
and Your Profound Holiness!
For It is You Who Made All That Exists,
From the Mightiest Galaxies to the Tiniest Atom.
You Know Us Inside and Out.
Our Hearts and Thoughts belong to You.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham,
and Indeed of ALL People.
Your Promises and Precepts are Eternal.
Your Judgments and Word are Forever True.
There is No Shadow of Turning With You.
You Are Faithful Even When We Are Not.
You ARE The Truth.
Let God be True,
and every man be a liar.
Let others choose whom they may serve,
but as for me and my house,
We Shall Serve You, Abba.
And in serving YOU,
We Choose to Believe and Obey Your Word.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
There is an anecdote about WW2 that explains why Stalin allowed the Nazis to make huge inroads into the Soviet Union before the Red Army fought back. I'm just speaking from a memory here, so it may not be entirely accurate, but it DOES illustrate today's Scripture Portion quite nicely:
According to many historians, Stalin refused to listen to "bad news". Any bearer of "bad news" risked execution. And so, although a lot of people KNEW what was going on, they continued to flatter Stalin. This was not an idle fear, as Stalin had executed many of his generals in the 1930's. As it happened, when Stalin finally DID hear the news, he went into seclusion and inaction for about a week which made things worse.
Today's very brief proverb from the Book of Ecclesiastes hearkens back to Solomon's Wisdom as exemplified in the Book of Proverbs. Sometimes the Truth Hurts. But it is better to listen to a wise counselor who speaks the Truth, and a person who has this Truth should not be afraid to speak it. The foolish song of a flatterer is a song of cowardice. The flatterers who soothe a Stalin with their foolish songs only delay their their execution. And thereby we have another quote, from Winston Churchill:
An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last.
And this one, attributed to George Orwell, is one of my personal favorites:
In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Great story.
One of my favorite proverbs (not in the Bible):
Flatterers, like cats, lick, then scratch.
Joining in prayer, left that other site, for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
