Pastor Ticketed 25 Times for Holding Church Services. Now Under House Arrest, Forced to Wear Ankle Bracelet

As governors crack down on religious services during the coronavirus pandemic, pastors across the United States weigh in on whether Attorney General William Barr and the Department of Justice are doing enough to protect their civil liberties.

The attorney general has issued multiple statements on the importance of respecting religious liberty “even in times of emergency” and intervened in cases of government crackdowns on churches and pastors.

The DOJ referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to several more instances of Justice Department intervention, including an April 27 memorandum from the attorney general on balancing public safety with the preservation of civil rights.

The DOJ also intervened in the case of a Mississippi church’s lawsuit in early April, siding with Temple Baptist Church after police officers issued hefty tickets to church goers who refused to leave a drive-in service. In the beginning of May, the Justice Department sided with a Virginia church suing Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam.

And on Friday, an Oklahoma mayor reversed her order and allowed churches to reopen for Mother’s Day following a warning from the Justice Department.

Yet some pastors who have been arrested for continuing to hold church services say they want to see more from Barr.

Pastor Tony Spell of the Louisiana Life Tabernacle church sparked a backlash in March when reports emerged that he had bused worshipers to Life Tabernacle from several different parishes in defiance of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edward’s ban on gatherings of more than 50 people. Spell was also criticized at the time for calling the reaction to the virus “politically motivated.”

Since the incident occurred, Spell told the Daily Caller News Foundation that he has been arrested three times for holding religious services.

“I’m on my 25th citation today,” he......

If the Bible is correct then God will pour his wrath and judgment out on America.

Nazi Germany did this to pastors of many, many churches the regime thugs didn’t like (they only let churches operate which were friendly or supportive of the Nazi terror regime and the pastors/priests and sermons were carefully monitored, watched by the Nazis to make sure ).

Communist-ruled countries usually do likewise.

I guess we are on the same list now, alas. Pray for America (even if the thug/Nazi-Communist politicians won’t let you pray in church, the good Lord still hears your prayers!) thank you.

Hey Barr! Put your cheeseburger down! I think someone’s constitutional rights that you said you’d protect are being violated!

We Spiritualists faced this in the 1920s. Every spiritualist church had (still do) a safe where money was kept to bail out the minister each Sunday for breaking “Anti-Fortune teller Laws” when they conducted a service with spirit readings (part of most Spiritualist services). They were called every name in the book. The cash was to bail out the Minister/Medium so they wouldn’t have to spend the night in Jail. Welcome to our world. The Acceded Master, Jesus ben Joseph said his followers would suffer persecution in his name—Like all the 12 Masters—he was right.

What the 2020 lockdown taught us is that
1. Politicians have no problem violating the Constitution
2. A large number of cops will follow unconstitutional orders unquestioningly.
3. Many politicians, especially those in deep blue cities and states, will not willingly give you your rights back. You will have to take them back.

There is one rule for Christians and Jews (shut down) and another rule for Muslims (they stay open). After all, the police and local officials do not want to be slurred as "raciss".

He should have someone transmit him via Zoom or a similar program to his congregation at the church. He’s at home, they still go to church to hear him.

Do that once just to annoy the libs. Then do it live.
