Excellent post and all of your “signposts” are spot on.
“Not according to Scripture.”
What Scripture, specifically?
I agree with your sentiment as I’m also pre-millennial.
Something has got to cause Gog to have that evil thought and convince him that he can get away with it using that bizarre coalition (Russia, Turkey, Iran, Libya, Sudan).
The USA being led by another weak-kneed lib or a total collapse of our nation via many means could be the component.
Ezekiel 38-39 makes clear that God alone rescues Israel and leaves no doubt that HE is the one who rescued them. No nation stands with Israel, that includes the U.S.
My thinking is that at that point, the church will be gone, and America will be led by a lib - so no surprise they wouldn’t help Israel at that point.
Of course, the country could split and we be so involved in our own mess over here that we can’t spare the attention, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario with the church still here that would accept not supporting Israel.
Exactly. One of the above.
Just a wild guess, but it could happen in 5 years.
Or sooner.
“Ezekiel 38-39 makes clear that God alone rescues Israel and leaves no doubt that HE is the one who rescued them. No nation stands with Israel, that includes the U.S.”
You are probably right. I have trouble reconciling the events and timeline during the end times, as there are so many pieces of this puzzle between Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Revelation, the Olivet Discourse, etc. And there seems to be a mixture of events in the same passages that are fulfilled during more than one time and place in history.
For example, there appears to be at least two abominations of desolation—one during the Maccabees and one in the middle of Daniel’s seventieth week. And some events in the Olivet Discourse pertain to 70 A.D. and some to Daniel’s seventieth week, apparently.
Revelation mentions Gog and Magog, but this is apparently a metaphor like Babylon. Some difficult things to decipher.
The difficulty for me with Ezekiel 38-39 is how and when Israel is brought to complete national repentance and how this correlates to Daniel 9.
I understand and share your struggle. I subscribe to a premillennial view myself, at least so far. I’m about to start Revelation in a deep inductive Bible Study, having completed the major and minor prophets first in the same type studies. It’s hard to track all of this, no doubt!
Not so sure that Gog and Magog are symbolic, though, as I tend to see an alliance among Russia, Iran and Turkey on the horizon as fitting the bill. Mystery of Babylon refers, I think, to a religion that involves mysticism, a hodge podge of Godless theologies, and pretty much “anything but Biblical Christianity goes”. I’m trying not to pin too much down in specifics right now because I have yet to study Revelation in depth as I”m about to do.
Daniel has 7 weeks....3.5 years into this period, the antichrist will show his true face, Israel will be shocked and God will protect them. Many will come to Christ.
I have a spent a lot of time reading and studying Revelation in the past few years.
You might appreciate this song based on Revelation that a relative of mine shared with me yesterday:

Thanks for that!
