Well, this is disturbing. Major book retailers are encouraging kids to summon their own personal devils this Christmas. All they have to do is convince their loving parents to gift them the next best kids' book, A Childrens Book of Demons, sure to be a hit in kindergarten classrooms nationwide.
LifeSiteNews reported that the book, written by Aaron Leighton, will instruct kids on how to conjure gentle demons by writing their sigils, which serve as a phone number straight to the spirit. Heck, yeah. Remove the uncertainty that comes with old school Ouija boards and direct dial Satan and his minions. Its the perfect fun for all ages.
Joking aside, this strange and macabre introduction to the occult is being marketed to the 5 to 10-year-old demographic and will be sold on Amazon, and at Wal-Mart and Barnes & Noble. That kids are being exposed to this has alarmed parents and even exorcists.
Popular parenting blogger Elizabeth Johnston, whose online persona is Activist Mommy, provided a blunt warning to parents curious about the book, which is presented by the author as playful, and innocent enough. Activist Mommy claimed, as ridiculous as the demons contained in the book may be, there is nothing innocent or fun about even pretending to summon evil spirits.
But who is to say it is pretend? she asked, adding: The spirit world is real and is not laughing. Granted, there are probably many secular parents who would roll their eyes over what seems to be something so trite, but Johnstons statement is a good reminder that demons are an ever-present reality looking for a way in.
Johnston claimed that the playful book is a ruse used by Leighton, an occultist himself, to proselytize our children. And even if their kids werent unfortunate enough to contact something on the other side, shouldnt parents question whether normalizing contact with the spirit world is a desirable thing?
Catholic Exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger warned that the book is dangerous. He claimed, The recent publication of the book A Childrens Book of Demons should be concerning for parents because it opens the door to demonic influence in the lives of children.
The fact that its wrapped up in a cute, kid-friendly package seems to be the most insidious aspect of the book. Amazons website description of the book reads: "Dont want to take out the trash tonight? Maybe youre swimming in homework? Perhaps that big bully is being a real drag? Well grab your coloured pencils and sigil drawing skills and dial up some demons!
Yes, its all fun and games, and therein lies the issue, as Father Ripperger explained, It is a sign of the degeneration of our society that making use of demons is considered acceptable, and it manifests ignorance of their malice and desire to do us harm.
Whats that line about the devil again? Oh yeah, the greatest trick he ever pulled was convincing the world he didnt exist.
This isn’t about the schools but this is down right scary and you may want to warn parents about it.
This is very dangerous and disturbing. Amazon, Walmart and other big stores will just let it happen if they don’t get attacked for it on Twitter. Something tells me it would take much more than one single complaint before they decided to listen. The opposite of most conservative organizations, that tend to wilt under the slightest negative pressure.
“Dang. It doesn’t work. All I see are Democrats”.
Walmart selling the Koran?
Not school related but this is something that all parents should be aware of and be aware that the neighborhood kids and other acquaintances might be involved in.
Thank you.
I find this very disturbing.
Being outraged about it just made this a best seller
If nobody reported about it, it would never sell and nobody would have cared
My daughter used to manage the childrens department at a Barnes and Noble. She said she had some good ways to make offensive crap like this disappear on the shelves.
Hopefully others also know her tricks.
Praying that this doesn’t happen.
lol at both comments :)
Well, yeah. Harry Potter.
Even if you’re a skeptic, Pascal’s wager is safer.
A review:
Leighton integrates a hands-on craft element into this playful guide that invites readers to conjure gentle demons by writing their sigils, which serve as a phone number straight to the spirit. The demons necessitate specific summons (a riddler named Corydon requires a sigil drawn in bright red, the colour of a clowns nosepreferably while youre giggling), and express specific characteristics and abilities that range from pragmatic to gross. They include Flatulus, whose talent is passing gas; Quazitoro, an expert at finding missing objects; and Spanglox, the best-dressed demon in the underworld, who offers cutting-edge fashion advice. Leightons renderings of the multieyed, multiarmed, sharp-toothed demons are outlandish without being creepy, and the creative concept will likely inspire some readers to create demons of their own. Ages 510. (July)

I know the same thing happened at a public library near me...
Contacting demons is easy - just write or email your local democrats. Just like other demons, once you contact them, it’s hard to make them go away. Bonus: Both groups of demons worship and serve the same master.
Two girls attempted to murder a friend (stabbed 19 times and left to die) claiming the internet crap legend “Slender Man” told them to.
No sense in encouraging such evil “play”.

I can summon demons from the murky depths!
But do they come, when you do call to them?
It has been gong on for decades. Remember SUN SIGNS? and other works from the 1970s talking on how to cast spells?
I remember the Lewis Meyer Bookshelf out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the 1970s and his daughter telling about a book on how to cast spells “and it really works!” she said.
Oscar showed some embarassment when she said that.
Back in those days any writer could make a living by writing books on how to cast spells and other witchcraft spells as he made them up in his mind.
the OUIJA board opened the door ...
