The battle for Vienna is the reason we have “Vienna Roast” coffee. The Saracens laid siege to Vienna but could not take it. They fled, leaving behind their bags of coffee. Not knowing how to preserve all that coffee, The Viennese roasted it, and thus Vienna Roast coffee was born.
