“What comes out of the heart defiles a man.”
Then you should do something about your anti-Catholicism.
“Care to address post #31?”
You didn’t address it to me when you had the chance. Sounds like your desperate for attention.
“Haughty condescension? ... whatever.”
Gee, what a lackluster response. In other words, typical.
So you believe yourself and your acerbic bile spewed at Protestants for no reason to be a typical Catholic? I don’t think that is the reality. I seek to evangelize Catholics BECAUSE the majority of Catholic I have known were not of your ilk. They displayed no bitterness nor did they spew vitriol as their personality characteristic. Some have been interested to find out what is actually in the Bible since they were not familiar with more than a few scenes.
I would ask you, does The Holy Spirit indwell believers while they are in their bodies?
That is what I'd expect from an anti-pope.
Real Catholics know differently.
Do me a favor and define for me what you think Sola Scriptura means.
Perhaps this was John (not Paul) cited in 1 John 3:9?
This is why Maccabees is inaccurate, uninspired, and not a part of the verified and validated Word of God. in comparison, here is reality, as accurately translated from the Textus Receptus, the verbally inspired inerrant Wrods of God:
"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin" (Rom 6:6-7 AV).
A dead person no longer sins, God doesn't permit any more of that, but he/she will not be serving sin or Satan, either. Satan and his angels will with the Christ-rejectors be so busy writhing in Hell and the Lake of Fire that none will be having other objectives in mind.
The individuals saved by faith in Christ Jesus will never sin again, either, but their rest in God's protective care will never be exposed to the penalty of sin, because Jesus paid it all, that His Own, His Bride, not see corruption.
There is no "purgation" in God's Perfect Plan slated after physical death, not for those rotting in hell, nor for those saved by the unmerited and undeserved gracious operation of God.
Yes John. Thank you.
I've noticed our RC friends are very selective in which "traditions" they accept and reject.
So one of the most important part of protestantism is non biblical?
So, you’re saying sola scriptura doesn’t exist? Am I to assume that protestants don’t believe sola scriptura then?
Why would me being Catholic mean that I have no idea what’s in the bible. I read it daily. Back to the question. Where does the bible say that if it isn’t biblical Christians are not to believe it. Chapter and verse please.
To the contrary, as shown. So you did not read what I provided or is the problem a lack of comprehension?
Do me a favor and show me the chapter and verse that says sola scriptura is the only reliable source of Christian information. I remember one that says something along the lines of what I’ve taught, passed down both written and spoken.
chapter and verse please, like a good prot.
14. What is the basis for your assurance that your church is the one true apostolic church? The weight of evidence for it or because the church who declared it asserts she it cannot err in such a matter?
Well, for one thing, it existed before 1400 years after the death of Christ.
nowhere does it say that any oral tradition is to be dismissed, neither is a bible of New Testament mentioned. My comprehension is quite good.
Enjoy your day on the couch, I have a business to run.
So you believe yourself and your acerbic bile spewed at Catholics for no reason to be a typical Protestant?
I agree with you.
I dont think that is the reality. I seek to evangelize Protestants BECAUSE the majority of Protestants I have known were of your ilk in ignorance. They displayed ignorance and sometimes spewed vitriol when their ignorance was exposed. Some have been interested to find out what is actually in the Bible since they were not familiar with more than a few scenes.
“I would ask you, does The Holy Spirit indwell believers while they are in their bodies?”
Since you’re an anti-Catholic I have no reason to believe you are asking a question in good faith. What I’ll do is post an article where you can learn more. If you are genuine, it leads to more study that will answer your question. https://catholicexchange.com/gift-holy-spirit-divine-indwelling I do not believe that is what you’re after, however.
More parody. You really are Adam Schiff.
I’ve noticed our RC friends are very selective in which “traditions” they accept and reject.
.....
Id like Early Church Fathers for $100, Alex.
