Francis: The Pope We Need
Patheos ^ | NOVEMBER 9, 2019 | MONSIGNOR ERIC BARR, STL

The Radical Traditionalists and Francis Derangement Syndrome

The RadTrad Heresy grows exponentially with its Jansenistic emphasis on the pernicious nature of the human spirit, its legalism, its deep suspicion of human sexuality, and its hatred of the Pope. It has chosen as its spokespersons the three musketeers of clericalism: Cardinal Raymond Burke, Archbishop Vigano, and Bishop Athanasius Schneider–all three of whom criticize the Pope non-stop to the point of opposing him openly. The RadTrad’s Francis Derangement Syndrome is worth exploring and the insights we glean will tell us why Francis is the Pope we need for our times.

The growth of the RadTrad Heresy runs parallel to the focus of Francis’ pontificate. Remember the dour man from Argentina elected to the papacy? He was not known as a smiling ecclesiastic and, in fact, often appeared as a typical frowning cleric. That all changed once he took the name of Francis. Suddenly as Pope, he seemed to drop years of age and become a laughing, smiling pontiff with a focus on mercy not judgment. Francis Derangement Syndrome began the day he said, “Who am I to judge?” in answer to a question on homosexuality. The opposition took shape in the Year of Mercy 2016, when the pontiff declared that the Church would emphasize mercy over judgment.

Heinrich Himmler modeled the SS on the Jesuits. Hitler once referred to Himmler as ‘’Our own Ignacious Loyola!’’

Secret vote, I think.

The Francis election was an exercise in one Cardinal, one Vote, one Time.

Francis has systematically appointed radical priests, liberation theologists, and lavender mafia members to most every powerful and influential post in the Catholic hierarchy and they are not going away via their own free will.

Furthermore, they are only going to appoint loyal, like minded fellow travellers to posts below them

If Francis does not already have a stranglehold on the Catholic Church hierarchy, he is very close and soon will. This tends to explain why he and his like minded cadres are becoming emboldened and letting the masks slip. They no longer have any opposition in any position of power and authority to oppose either them or their agenda.

Powerful forces external to the Catholic Church have the backs of Team Francis and will support and protect them through government politics, the courts and law enforcement.

At this point there are only limited options for traditional Catholics to regain control of the church to set things right. One is internal rebellion by traditionalist priests but they seem to be rare on the ground and outnumbered by Francis

The other is for a grass roots effort by the Catholic church members via prayer, reparations and direct action

Msgr. Eric Barr has covered up for homo child-rapist priests. It's no wonder he loves Bergoglio.

Q: We have reported the diocese statement that you will not comment on the Mark Campobello case (regarding a former Belvidere priest accused of sexual assault). In the May 16 edition of The Observer (the diocese's newspaper), Msgr. Eric Barr wrote about First Amendment issues regarding the Mark Campobello case. (The diocese has argued it is protected in its refusal to give prosecutors documents in the criminal case). Why was it important for the diocese to make those points?

Are there any Freepers that belive this, the other side?

No, not that I know of. I don't know Msgr Barr and can't speculate on why he wrote what he wrote, but the only Catholics I know who seem to be cheerleading for Bergoglio are gays (priests, bishops and laity) who have the idea that Bergoglio is ditching Catholic prohibitions on homosexual acts and relationships.

I do have to note that this article is being excoriated in a highly technical manner on the site where it was posted.

Perhaps there will arise a stronger Catholicism which will cast out this Idolator and his apostate retinue.

What the New Testament says about the Pope, if anything, won’t take long to review.

I can't answer for JoefromSidney, he'll have to jump in here and add another 2 cents worth.

But we make a distinction between God's positive will, and God's permissive will.

So from my Catholic POV, the thing is not that God "chooses evil," but that because God so highly values the freedom He gives to His people, He does not withdraw their free will, and that perforce requires that He --- for a time -- permits evil.

God could stop Bergoglio in a nanosecond by causing his prompt demise. Short of that, it's His positive will is that Bergoglio should repent and come to a knowledge of the truth. But Bergoglio must choose this. God will not maniulate him like a sock puppet.

God wills good; but he will (for a time) permit people to do wrong.

And yet Himmler rejected the Catholic Church and embraced Islam, as the ‘perfect religion for soldiers.’

A beautiful response regarding God's will, thank you.

I was just responding to JoeFromSidney's comment: "I have to accept that Francis is the pope God wanted us to have", which implies (to me) that God chose this man. And although I'm not Catholic, it seems to me that the Cardinals are the ones that installed this man...they are responsible for this. Surely they knew of Francis' proclivities and philosophies?

I hope I haven't offended, it was just my own observation.
