LGBT ‘Pride’ Masses Taking Over Multiple Catholic Dioceses in England

ENGLAND, November 4, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – The Catholic diocese of Salford in north-west England has become the latest of multiple Catholic dioceses around the United Kingdom to begin hosting “LGBT+ Masses.” In Salford, as in the other dioceses, the LGBT+ Masses enjoy the support of their respective local bishops.

Advertisements for the Masses have become widely available in churches and on various official parish and diocesan websites. Many of these advertisements are emblazoned with the rainbow flag or popular Catholic images such as crosses or the Sacred Heart filled with the rainbow colours. Several of the groups involved in organizing these Masses take part in their local homosexual “pride” events.

n none of the advertisements or official publications about these Masses is the Catholic Church’s authoritative, constant teaching that homosexual sexual acts are inherently sinful made clear.

Playing a key role in the promotion and support of many of these Masses is the group “Quest.” Quest states on its website that it desires to see the “acceptance of homosexual relationships by the Catholic Church” and that its purpose is to help homosexuals reconcile their Catholic faith with the "full expression of their homosexual natures.” At their annual conference in 2018, Quest organizers showed a specially pre-recorded video presentation by the pro-homosexual celebrity priest Fr. James Martin.

This increase in LGBT+ Masses around the country has been welcomed by LGBT+ Catholics Westminster.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that LGBTers cannot take a bodacious Obama on and ruin.

And they are doing a downright superb job on the Catholic Church (that they took over decades ago).

I feel for my old faith and the Catholic schools that gave me a very big head start for my university education.

I guess the priests are skipping the part about Sodom and Gomorrah.

Virtually eliminating the Latin Mass (along with other VII accommodations to modernism) made room for all this garbage.

You knew the Church was in trouble when sexual predation was mainly covered up rather than rooted out.

When do they start celebrating pedophilia?

Those in this condition are called to chastity, and the Church should be supporting that.

I agree with you. I'm 75. The Catholic Church was always comforting, quiet, solemn, respectful.

Now it's no longer any of those things.

Keep in mind that the communists began in the 30's to infiltrate the church by grooming young, bright homosexuals to enter the seminaries.

It is the spread of the homosexual cults in the seminaries that precipitated these problems.

Fewer than 20% of the sexual abuse victims have been young girls.

I’m a little surprised. I thought a lot of the Catholics in England were Polish transplants, who are not usually the type to put up with nonsense. But I guess they are not the bishops, merely the congregants.

In March of this year, the group were given privileged seats at a papal audience in St Peter’s Square, Rome, after which they were invited to meet and take photographs with Pope Francis. They were introduced to Pope Francis by Martin Pendergrast, an ex-priest who has been in a civil union with Julian Filochowski, the former head of Cafod, since 2006.

And yet Bergoglio still won't grant a private audience, let alone a public audience, with the two surviving dubia cardials. It's been 1140 days now since the Mercypope received the dubia.

Quest states on its website that it desires to see the “acceptance of homosexual relationships by the Catholic Church” and that its purpose is to help homosexuals reconcile their Catholic faith with the "full expression of their homosexual natures.”

The only reconciling that can be done is for homosexuals confess their sin and abstain from homosexual sex.

Barring that they need to reconcile their minds with the fact that they will be forever damned to hell for their persistent sin.

As far as acceptance of homosexuality by the Church, that is impossible. Homosexual sex is a mortal sin. That is a doctrine of the faith that is inalterable. The Pope can not change that fact.

It is very sad to see what is going on in the Catholic Church. I’m 53 and a convert. I joined the Catholic Church as I came to believe it is the true church of Christ. However, it is clear to me that the Church has been infiltrated by those who wish to subvert it from the inside out. What saddens me the most is that many who are truly seeking the truth are now put off by the one institution which Christ instituted on Earth because of these people. I am fortunate to have a very reverent priest as my pastor but he is close to retirement. I pray that we will have another good priest to follow him.

Am I missing the ambiguity? Am I missing the "nuance"?

Even if the entire Catholic "Church" goes soft...from the Pope all the way down...you can keep Christ's teachings alive in your heart. The Creator knows what's in your heart...and that's all that counts.

Welcome to Freerepublic! I’m a late adult convert also. It’s been a little over 10 years and I’ve drifted because the constant social justice drumbeat and have been lax in finding a new parish.
