He claims a picture is bearing ‘false witness’.
Guess we shouldn’t allow photographs and videos in the courtroom then genius!
Never said that anything outside of Scripture was inspired. "Not inspired" is not the same thing as "not true," however.
Um...are your REALLY going to compare Jesus taking action vis-à-vis "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers." to citizens' lordship over Church property? Next.
You should worry more about the sanctity of the church than the so called sanctity of private property. Where do you draw the line?
Unless you are a Priest in that Church, and unless it's wartime, you have no rights over the property or sanctity of that Church. I've made it clear where I draw the line. Where is YOUR line?
What if the church bought and paid for Maplethorpe photos to put in the sanctuary. Would you shrug and say private property, leave it alone?
I may be inclined to take those photos to the Parish Priest, who is the just "keeper" of the Church, for him to deal with it (hopefully) properly by destroying those pics.
Now, if that Priest gives the pics a cheery two-thumbs up, then I may be inclined to unleash a massive social media AND print media blitz that exposes this Priest's actions. I would also ridicule the snot out of the Priest because guys like that wear criticism as a badge of honor but they haaaaate being ridiculed. I would also leave that Parish.
Now, I agree with you that photos like those have no place in the Church (or in a proper society aside from in a degenerate's art gallery in Soho). They are an abomination.
But from what I gather, your solution would be to take the photos and do whatever you wish with them. OK - so please tell me explicitly from which part of Cannon Law and criminal law does your power derive?
Or do you think that YOU get to be the arbiter of what's right and wrong...you know...like the Dems and illegal immigration?
Nice Christian love, there, RWC.
To some dummy throwing out lies - you betcha troll.
The false witness part comes when you assume that the picture means someone is praying to the statue, duh.
dude....you can't commit idolatry on something God has commanded.
theology 101.
the lengths Roman Catholics attempt to justify their idolatry of Mary.
Wow.
Yes, precisely, therefore your argument that bowing before an image is necessarily idolatry falls flat on its face, because I just gave you a counter-example. Thank you.
Once you allow outside sources as to be equal to the Truth you bring down the Scriptures to the level of man-made traditions....that is you have lessened the Scriptures.
All outside teaching must be compared to Scripture for accuracy. When done so much of Roman Catholicism falls short.
IF God says to do so it is not idolatry. God has not given the green light on bowing before man-made images of Mary. In both Old and New Testaments there are warnings against idolatry.
To attempt to equate the Ark with these again displays your lack of understanding of this topic and vain attempt to justify the idolatry of Rome.
Your welcome.
Wrong, it’s you trying to deflect & lie about a picture of your cohorts breaking MULTIPLE Commandments.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3You shall have no other gods beforea Me.
4You shall not make for yourself an idol of any kind, or an image of anything in the heavens above, on the earth beneath, or in the waters below. 5You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6but showing loving devotion to a thousand generationsb of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave anyone unpunished who takes His name in vain.
8Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any workneither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant or livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates. 11For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
12Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
13You shall not murder.
14You shall not commit adultery.
15You shall not steal.
16You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17You shall not covet your neighbors house. You shall not covet your neighbors wife, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
You should be in a good old-fashioned Easter Vigil, where everything gets incensed, including the priest, the concelebrants, the deacon, every person in the pews, the Gospel book, the altar, the water for Baptism, -- everything.
Because ---we are adoring books, pews, or even unbelievers who just happen to be in attendance (it could have been you!) --- right?
Actually, it means that persons, places, and things are being dedicated and set apart for the service of God.
I dig the Fatima statues, though. Is that cool or what? Even our statues adore statues! Fersure!

Duh.
Nice try Don-O!
I’m a Saved Saint by the Blood of Christ (works free - Ephesians 2:8-9)
Acts 2:21
John 6:29
Romans 10:9-10
Romans 10:13
You should try it sometime. The yoke of works saved nobody.
Yeah.. wow!
Take a post out of context and then lie about it - and watch the pushback.
You think I’m going to lay down for that?
Think again before posting nonsense.
I don’t think I’m “saved by works.” Like, bootstrapping yourself into eternity? Where did you get that?
You will not convince catholics that these rituals, relics and dead body parts they bow before and kiss is worship. If the Gods words themselves cannot reach them I highly doubt anyone outside their ritul practices will have influence as peopel of God have been trying to do warn catholics for centuries......
We do know that Romans 1 says that when people suppress the truth of God and reject that which can be known of God that is in them in the place of God, they create their own idols ‘in the form of man’... as well as beasts and other animals.
I think we even have a fertility goddess saint we can pray directly to.
And those are found in the Bible where exactly?

The statuary is beautiful, in an art sense. Fatima is a fraud by the Catholic Church embellishing on a UFO and demonic visitations. You can find the truth if you look for it, regarding the Fatima hoax, but I am convinced you do not want truth you want to lend credulity to fraudulent stuff. The eyewitness reports of attendees at Fatima expose the fraud. It is however interesting that the eyewitness reports were written down by the local Priest and are in the archives at Fatima, and expose the fraudulent hoax being perpetrated by the Catholic Church.
