We are witnessing one of the two meanings of the great departure written of by Paul in 2 Thess 2. The othere reading of the term will be a physical departure of ALL believers since Pentecost.

2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for the Lord cometh not, except there come a departing first, and that that sinful man be opened, the son of perdition [
Tyndale Bible] 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: [g]for that day shall not come, except there come a departing first, and that [h]that man of sin be disclosed, even the son of perdition. [1599 Geneva Bible] The Geneva Bible particularly aligns with what follows where Paul addresses the one Who hinders the man of sin being revealed. Departing from the faithing in Christ is one meaning; the one hindering lawlessness via indwelling believers is another meaning, and is more supported by the text which follows verse 3.

Too often the undergirding assumption of those who cast doubt on the historicity of the Book of Mormon, in whole or in part, is a denial of the supernatural and a refusal to admit of revelation and predictive prophecy More likely, it has something to do with the utter lack of objective evidence for the historicity of the Book of Mormon. But hey, just pray on it until you get a burning in the bosom and it's all okay.

Mormon authority millet says that denial of the historicity of the book of Mormon is a denial of the supernatural. No it isnt. Its just a denial of the book of Mormon.
Exactly. And the exact same thing can be said of denial of the "new testament."
