New Syrian Constitution Must Guarantee Interests of All Ethnic, Religious Groups - Putin

Moscow, October 13, Interfax - A new Syrian constitution being drafted now must guarantee interests of all ethnic and religious groups living in the country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"People need to know that they live in their own country and that it protects them by law. This must be equally true for Sunnis and Shia, for Alawites and Christians," Putin said in an interview with RT Arabic, Sky News, and Al Arabiya, posted on the Kremlin website.

"It will not be easy; it will be a difficult process, but I believe it can work," he said.

"Do you know why I feel positive about it? People are returning home. We are talking thousands of people. They are returning from abroad and from other Syrian provinces. They are coming home," Putin said.

"This is a sure sign of the trust they have in the situation we have today; they trust the government and its guarantees, and they trust the guarantor states [Russia, Iran and Turkey]," he said.

Well if obummer and hitlery didn’t push for the “civil war”, as I recall Christians were not treated that badly under Assad.

He’s still a piece of garbage for funding terrorism.

But 80 percent of Christians in Syria did not want him removed before this all began.

Yep. Assad protected the Christians.

Genocide happened because of Obama and the UN.

Oh, so it has to be exactly like it was before we launched the rebel civil war to install a Sunni wahabbist theocracy?

Before the war, unlike Saudi Arabia there were Christians of all types, Shia, Sunni, Alawite, Kurds, and hell, there were still a couple of synagogues. Under the evil Assad, You could drink alcohol, women could travel, drive a car, marry, divorce, have a job, get an education, dance to music on Latakia beach in a bikini and sip some wine.
So naturally the USAID/CIA/State/And Saudis had to put a stop to those goings on.

Retarded...

His dad was bad, and was behind the Beirut barracks bombing. His Air Force tried to fight the Israelis and lost in the famous 80 to nothing dogfight. The son is orders of magnitude better. Was an eye doctor in London and returned reluctantly when dad dies and some brother was bad news for some reason.

At least when he was in charge, you could go visit the Roman ruins at Palmyra. Or visit several old Christian sites. ISIS did massive damage to those old sites.

Last I heard, the Syrian government is still there after all of this. So they don’t need a new constitution.
