I never thought we would see schisms and upheaval in mainstream religious denominations, over homosexuality.
And yet here we are.

It has been a long time coming, especially since the legalization of homosexual marriage. My father was UMC, and his pastor told the congregation there would no same-sex marriages performed in that parish. If the pro-LGBTs feel their fellowship with traditionalists has become forced, well the traditionalists seem to feel the same way. This could be healthy in the long run for the UMC.
